St. Mary'S Church, Bocking

Wishing everyone a very Happy Easter. Join us for services at 8am and 10am as we celebrate together. At our 10am service we will also be baptising baby Grace and there will be an Easter Egg Hunt to follow! All welcome.

Our Easter Vigil service begins at 8pm. We move from dark to light, silence to the clamour of bells, and of course from death to life! We begin with the Easter fire as the light is brought into a dark but hope filled church. Don't miss this moving service.

At 7pm this evening the bell will toll at St Mary’s for 7 minutes, as we stand in solidarity with Notre Dame, Paris.

We begin our Holy Week services with our Palm Sunday Procession tomorrow at 10am. Come and meet Winston our Donkey and wave your palm cross. All welcome.

After discussions with the family and the band’s management it has been agreed that the floral tributes left for Keith will be taken down on Friday afternoon. So if you would like to see them we encourage you to do so before then. Pleased be assured all the cards, posters, displays, prints, artwork and memorabilia will be going to the band and family.

Join us for our main 10am service this morning on this Mothering Sunday... posies of Flowers will be distributed. It is also a Sunday Club week... so all our younger members are welcome to join us, drop off in the Church Hall from 9.45am.

It was a privilege to have the funeral of the late Keith Flint 'Keef' here yesterday, Bocking and his fans absolutely did him proud. The floral tributes will remain on display until early next week.

If you are about in Bocking this Friday morning please pop in to Revd Rod's coffee morning! All proceeds to the charity he is running the London Marathon for.

We can confirm that the funeral of the late Keith 'Keef' Flint will take place this Friday afternoon at St Mary's. We are working with the family, band, their management, Essex Police and other agencies to make sure everything runs smoothly on the day and we give Keef the send off he deserves. For those local to us, please know that we will be working to minimise the impact on the village with more info to follow.

The vicar is hilarious � fantastic wedding service

Such a beautiful church. Today we christened our daughter and the service was perfect. Rod was so accommodating and put all the parents with young children at ease with his reassurance and relaxed approach. Thank you so much we all had such a wonderful time.

So thankful to have received such a warm welcome, Father Rod is fabulous! The church is beautiful and it was a pleasure to attend the Christingle Service on Christmas Eve, it says a lot that the church was full up, such a lovely atmosphere.

Got married in this beautiful church on Sat 24th Sept. It was an amazing day, it was a service with a difference but made all the more fabulous because of the great vicar Rod Reid, our vicar is lucky to have him.

Did my theological college placement here in 2015. A very special experience. Father Rod and his wonderful congregation are fantastic.

We are lucky to have St Mary's Church at the bottom of our road and what a delight it is to see each day for the residents of our care home.But we are luckier still to have Father Rod on our doorstep!! He is kindness personified and has on a number of occasions brought such comfort to residents and families at the New Deanery. Thank you Rod for everything.
