On Sunday 2nd December we begin our Advent journey with Parish Eucharist at 10am. On Sunday 10th December from 2-4pm we welcome children & families to our 'Christmas Elf Workshop and Christingle Carols' - there might also be a surprise visit from Father Christmas!

A lovely start to the Second Half Club at St Paul's this morning - with computer advice, guitar lessons, singing group and Zumba! Great to welcome new people into church and see friends again after the summer break.

Kevin has received a warm welcome in Kagadi, Uganda.

We know the school holidays can be very difficult for some families - if money is tight at the best of times, when schools break up there are even more pressures on the budget. That's why our new DISH project (Dinner in School Holidays) is so important to give support to those who are struggling. We're excited about this summer as we begin this new project - we've got activities lined up every week, fabulous support from local businesses through the Baker Street Partnership, and some fun trips sponsored by the Evening Standard! Please pass on the word to any local families who may appreciate a little extra support this summer. In partnership with Foodcycle Marylebone & Baker Street Partnership, and thanks to funding from the Evening Standard.

Today we prayed for the worldwide church and especially for the parish of St Luke's, Kagadi, Uganda, where Kevin, our pastoral assistant, will be spending one month to establish a link with St Paul's. We also shared prayers, songs and stories from Brazil, Egypt, South Africa, Nigeria, Uganda and the West Indies. We received the gift of a cross and altar frontal from St. Paul's Monastery, near the Red Sea, and blessed a stole as a gift to St Luke's, Kagadi. A wonderful morning celebrating the rich diversity of the church.

Today we welcomed students, staff, support workers and parents from Westminster Adult Education Service (WAES) for a time of remembrance. WAES runs classes for adults with learning difficulties and physical disabilities every Monday and Friday at St Paul's. Today we gathered to remember Andrea, one of the teachers at the college, who passed away suddenly on Monday. Andrea helped to lead classes every Friday at St Paul's. She had so much love and enthusiasm to share with her s...tudents, so encouraging and nurturing, so gifted in her work with music, drama, gardening and sewing. It was touching to see the way the teachers, support workers and parents supported the students so attentively in this time of sadness. Memories were shared, people listened to one another, there were lots of hugs and tears, time to light candles and write messages in a book of condolence. I am so glad that St Paul's is a place where the students feel safe, welcome and accepted in times of sadness, as well as in the joy of their weekly classes.
