Stagecoach Performing Arts Colchester

Many congratulations to our Early Stages student, 6 year old Mellora, who has been selected to represent London (in her age group), at the Disney Face of Europe and the World competition. Mellora thoroughly enjoyed the preliminary event and was thrilled to be awarded the princess crown! She is now looking forward to the grand final which will take place in the Dream Castle Spa Hotel, in Disneyland Paris, in November. Mellora has also been fundraising for Headway, the nominated charity for the event, to raise awareness for head injuries. Well done Mellora - we are really proud of you and wish you lots of luck for the final!

It is always great to hear about Stagecoach Performing Arts Colchester student success in auditions! This week, congratulations go to two of our Stage 3 students: Juliette who has won a part in the Stagecoach National Production of The Sound of Music at the Rose Theatre, Kingston in August and Sebastian, who successfully auditioned for the Colchester Mercury Theatre production of Oliver and will be appearing in the junior chorus. Well done to both our talented students - we look forward to seeing you on stage!

Many congratulations to the 25 Stagecoach students who took to the stage with The Barricade Boys last week, at the Colchester Mercury Theatre. Our students performed two numbers with the Boys, A Million Dreams and One Voice - the director commented that their harmonies were some of the best he had heard! Thank you to our teachers Becky and Rachel for preparing the students to sing so beautifully. Well done everyone - all your hard work paid off and it was a fantastic performance!

Our talented students will be singing on stage at the Colchester Mercury Theatre on Tuesday (14th May), to a sold out audience and are very excited to perform. It is time to book your place at Stagecoach Performing Arts Colchester's Summer Holiday Workshops! We have 3 courses running this year: a Dance Boot Camp (ages 12+) and a Junior Musical Theatre Workshop (ages 4 to 7 years), both running from 29th July to 2nd August at the Sixth Form College and a Disney High School Musical Jr workshop, running from 12th to 16th August at the Gilberd School. Stagecoach Performing Arts Colchester's Summer Term commences this week (26th/27th/28th April) and we have lots in store for our students! Main School students are in for a real treat, as they will be working on the wonderful musical The Wiz Jr. Our fabulous teachers are busy preparing the lessons and we are very excited to get started. Huge congratulations to the talented members of our singing and dance troupes, Forte and Formation, on their wonderful performance at Her Majesty's Theatre on Sunday evening. Their stylish piece 'Diamonds' looked fantastic on the stage and we felt so proud of all their hard work. A big 'thank you' to our teachers and chaperones Sarah, Charlotte, Soophia and Emily. Well done everyone!

Good luck to the students from Stagecoach Performing Arts Colchester performing this evening, at the Stagecoach National Showcase. They will be taking to the stage at Her Majesty's Theatre in London and we are sure they will be fantastic - break a leg everyone!

Don't forget that there are NO Stagecoach classes today (Saturday 30th March) or tomorrow (Sunday 31st March), as our term has now finished for the Easter break. Well done to the fabulous students from Stagecoach Performing Arts Colchester who performed at the London Stadium on Saturday, for the prestigious Saracens v Harlequins annual rugby match. Our students joined forces with other Stagecoach schools from across the country, to form a 300 strong choir and entertained the crowd before the game and during half-time. They sang 3 numbers, finishing up with a rousing medley of Queen songs - which were thoroughly enjoyed by the rugby supporters! Our students had a fantastic day and a big 'thank you' to our teachers and chaperones for looking after them so well.

Congratulations to our hugely talented Further Stages students, on their two stunning performances of the hit musical 'Legally Blonde', last weekend. They were so professional and both shows were outstanding. Thank you to our equally talented teachers and to CDC Productions Sound and Lighting Hire for making the production look so good! Stagecoach Performing Arts Colchester is delighted to announce that we have been successful in our audition to perform on stage at Disneyland Paris, in July 2019! It was a tough audition that went to 2 rounds, but we got there in the end! 25 students will be travelling to Disneyland with their families and will also have the wonderful opportunity to dance in the pre-parade and sing outside the Disney castle. Rehearsals will commence after Easter and we can't wait to get started. Well done everyone!

Huge congratulations to the students from Stagecoach Performing Arts Colchester, who took part in the Stagecoach Live performance at the Palace Theatre, Westcliff-on-Sea, on Sunday evening. They were fantastic and the audience loved their 'Madness' routine.
