Good to see The Sun giving osteopathy a plug - you'll have to get to the bottom of the article to see it!

As true here as it is is 'down under, regular exercise can help combat a number of mental and physical health issues.
Why not try making time for a twenty minute walk each day - we're sure you'll notice a difference in how you feel, and very quickly.
Why wait for New Year to make a resolution?

An oldie but a goodie.
Joking aside, Fitbits, Apple Watch and other activity trackers can make a big difference in keeping us healthy. If nothing else, they make us more conscious of how much time we spend sitting and how little movement we make during the course of a day.
One for the Christmas list, perhaps?

#WednesdayWisdom today is brought to you by St Francis of Assisi whose love of nature, the environment and the natural balance of each was central to his being.
Osteopathy is based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on their bones, muscles, ligaments and connective tissue functioning smoothly together, in harmony. Andrew Still, widely regarded as the father of Osteopathy, believed the body's natural state tends toward health and inherently contains the capacity to battle any harmful threats to health.

When our IDD machine arrived, one of our patients did liken it to 'that rack in Thunderball' but having tried it for herself, soon realised it's nothing like the movie!
Intervertebral Differential Dynamics (IDD) Therapy is the non-surgical spinal decompression treatment for chronic back pain and neck pain. The machine uses computer-controlled pulling forces delivered by the SPINA medical devices to gently distract (draw apart) targeted segments of the spine in order to take p...ressure off specific discs and nerves. At the same time, it helps to gently stretch tight muscles and stiff ligaments.
If you suffer from back pain or neck pain, IDD Therapy may help. Why not give us a call and we'll see how we can best help you? We promise, it's not as scary as it looks.
Catch us on 01280 390 760.

The daily stresses and strains of life, from sitting long hours over a computer to lifting heavy equipment, sporting activities or even playing with the children or grandchildren, can all take a toll from time to time. Your body is an amazing structure with an incredible ability to heal itself. However, there are some things you can do which may help your body to heal faster.
As Osteopaths, we work to restore your body to a state of balance, where possible without the use of drugs or surgery. Instead, we use touch, physical manipulation, stretching and massage to relieve muscle tension, to increase the mobility of joints and enhance the blood and nerve supply to tissues. These techniques help your body’s own healing mechanisms.

Last night, as part of his on-going commitment to Continous Professional Development, Principal Osteopath, Adam Balderstone attended the Osteopaths in Bedfordshire Community group gathering last night.
The presentation and subsequent discussion focussed around kinesiology tape, its uses and its effectiveness.
Kinesiology tape is used in the Kinesio Taping Method, where single “I” strips or modifications in the shape of an “X”, “Y” or other specialised shapes are used to help reduce pain, bruising and inflammation and promote circulation and therefore healing.
