Happy Birthday this week to Dizzy Gillespie, a true master of the trumpet. Find out why his instrument looked this way here alongside this great shot from Ted Williams https://storiesonwalls.com/…/dizzy-gill espie-and-the-damag…/

This week is Russell Simmons birthday. Russell changed the face of hip hop music forever when he signed and developed Run DMC taking hip hop back to its roots. Check out this awesome illustration by Italian graphic designer Alberto Russo on our site. It looks pretty good in the black frame. #runDMC #RusselSimmons #hiphop #originalart #Albertorusso https://storiesonwalls.com/pr…/1984-run -dmc-keeping-it-real/

Sad to hear of the passing of Hugh Hefner today. In celebration of all he created, here is a picture of an 18 year old Aretha Franklin playing in his original club in Chicago in 1961. Obviously available exclusively from stories on walls here at gallery quality. #hef #playboy #arethafranklin https://storiesonwalls.com/p…/aretha-pl ays-the-playboy-club/

There isn't a kid on the planet who didn't at one point dream of being a fireman. The Matchbox fire engine will go down in history as one of the most loved makes, responsible for millions of hours of imaginary play bliss til this day!

Share your #MatchboxCar memories with us: I have super fond memories of driving this John Deere-Lanz tractor around my mother's garden for hours until the sun started going down and she'd call me in for tea. Mine had the trailer attachment which came with plastic barrels you could tow around. I don't know how many joy filled hours I spent with this simple but delightful toy, but I remember them fondly.

We love the Land Rover! It was originally conceived in 1947 during the aftermath of World War II. Designed to only be in production for two or three years to grow cash flow and exports, the product remains successful to this day.

Introducing the Dragster! What an exhilarating category of post-war custom car, the hot-rod. Built for quarter mile straight line racing on flats, they developed engines so powerful that the front wheels were known to leave the floor during acceleration and flames to fire from their exhaust pipes.

Even as one of the world’s pre-eminent sports photographers, Gerry Cranham felt privileged to be accredited to work at the 1966 World Cup final between England and West Germany at Wembley Stadium. Read more about his experience on the day at http://bit.ly/GerryC

Another awesome moment captured by Gerry Cranham in our Golden Game exhibition about the 1966 World Cup Final.
In this shot, the team's modest manager Alf Ramsey tries to stay out of the limelight at the moment of triumph. He remains seated, while everyone else jumps around. Alf wanted his players to take the glory. …different to a few managers today!

July 30th, 1966… Wembley Stadium. In this shot, we see some of the lucky fans bubbling with excitement because they have a seat for the World Cup Final. A group of Liverpool supporters cheekily remind everyone who has just won the League.
