Here's a trip down memory lane: Resolution Magazine have digitized their first ever issue from way back in 2002, featuring Oskar Paul in Strongroom 3 on the cover, and a few more snaps of him working in SR1 in his interview.
Dive in for some heavy, heart-warming nostalgia!

We've passed 5000 signatures on the #SAVESTRONGROOM campaign page. Huge thanks to each and every one of you, and if you have signed but not written to the council planning committee to formally object to the development proposal please do so. Instructions here: http://bit.ly/savesr
Mary Anne Hobbs recently hosted a blinding show on BBC Radio 6 Music, playing a number of tunes that have either passed through our doors or are on heavy rotation here at Strongroom, including the absolute banger 'Odessa' by Caribou, who has kindly been a vocal supporter of our campaign (and who's album Our Love was mixed in Strongroom 2 by David Wrench). She gives us a lovely little shout-out at around 1hr 20mins, but you should really listen to the whole show in all it's glory.

Happy Friday everybody! Our 38 Degrees petition has received some incredible support over the past few weeks and we're verging right on the cusp of 5000 signatures. Incredible work, and thank you all so much.
We wanted to share this heart-warming article written by our dear friend and engineer, Marta Salogni for PSNEurope, and take the opportunity to thank her for her kind, inspirational and defiant words:
"When the news of a possible closure of Strongroom because of redevel...opment plans of the area just next to it reached me, I struggled to think of a more shortsighted, culturally irresponsible, unnecessarily covetous action from the developers.
A recording studio is an organism, which is part of the fabric of national and international culture; a machine which generates testimonials of an era, which documents and immortalises popular history - musically, socially, politically."
💪 Cheers everyone, keep up the good fight! ✊

WE NEED YOUR HELP!
https://you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/sa ve-strongroom
Some of you may have heard the news that we received word of a planning application submitted to Hackney Council, proposing the construction of a giant 6-storey block along our joining wall at 118 Curtain Road. The proposed demolition and construction is estimated to take 18 months. 18 months of dust, debris, endless drilling and of course loud noise and low frequency vibration. This level of disturbanc...e would almost certainly put our studios out of business, displace the many wonderful producers and companies we have based here and the finished construction would cast our beautiful courtyard in a constant shadow.
Having aided the regeneration of Shoreditch in fierce support of independent businesses, we remain strong and defiant, protective of our wonderful community and thankfully busier than ever. Does Shoreditch really need another ugly office block to benefit a Guernsey-based corporation? We ask you to stand with us and save culture over big business. Save communities and support creativity. With your help we saved AIR Studios, and now we ask you again, please #SAVESTRONGROOM

Today our beloved long-time friend and resident Rob Kelly Music releases 'Synaptic Counterpoint', a composition written, recorded and mixed here at Strongroom in an effort to raise awareness and funding for Motor Neurone Disease Awareness day (which is in fact this very day).
Head over to Rob's bandcamp page to hear the tune and GIVE BIG. All proceeds go to MND Association: https://robkelly.bandcamp.com/
Nice one, Rob!

We had the great pleasure of hosting THD-Labs / Automation for your SSL first UK demo in Strongroom 3 last night. The Tangerine Automation Interface is an impressive piece of technology showing huge promise, which we hope will see a return of people making the most of analogue consoles, mixing between Pro Tools and the desk.

We're truly elated and honoured to be nominated Studio of The Year once again by the Music Producers Guild - MPG and its members. Thank you! Good luck to everyone who's worked so hard to be shortlisted, but particularly to our dearest friends and family who we see so many of listed alongside us this year:
Steph Marziano, Marta Salogni both incredible Strongroom engineers, both nominated for Breakthrough Engineer or The Year. Fighting restlessly to prove that the future IS fem...ale in music and beyond.
Drew Bang, long-time Strongroom engineer & 2016 Breakthrough Engineer nominee, who's engineering work on Royal Blood's 'How Did We Get So Dark' is up for Album of The Year and Single of The Year.
alt-J, Charlie Andrew & Brett Cox, nominated for Album of The Year and UK Producer of The Year for 'RELAXER', recorded almost entirely in Strongroom 1.
Ben Baptie, David Wrench, Matthew Wiggins, UNKLE; Breakthrough Producer, Mix Engineer, Recording engineer of The Year and Remixer of The Year nominees respectively. Regulars, Strongroom residents, old friends and all 'round immensely talented folk.
See you all at the awards in March, this is going to be some party!!!
