About Sundown Adventureland

“Come on kids, there’s lots to see and do. Your adventure is just beginning! ”

Sundown Adventureland Description

Our new fantastic Fort Apache area is now open! You’re in the play area of the remote western cavalry post of “Fort Apache” in the old American West. Everything is going on here, slides, tubes, tyres and much more. A good base for scouting around Sundown, but watch out for enemy attach from those Indians, outlaws and hostiles.

Bet you’ve never heard a goat yodel or a potato talk, but you will at Sundown Market, and with your help all the animals in the musical pet shop will join in the chorus of their very own song. Explore the Rodeo Corral Indoor Play Area and climb aboard the Rocky Mountain Railroad, but hold onto your hats folks, those pesky bandits are popping up everywhere.

Be careful not to wake the dragon as you enter the Lollipoppet castle with all its smells of candy. Then it’s on to the Tractor Ride for a trip around the countryside before talking to the animals on our Animated Farm. Grab those bows and arrows and climb aboard the Robin Hood Ride to join Robin and his merry men as they travel through Sherwood Forest. Then it’s onto Crash Landings – our fantastic four storey indoor play area and café, climb and explore the jungle where you may get a surprise from a cheeky monkey or a slippery snake.

Run, swing and play in our bright and colourful Angry Birds Activity Park. Take a spin on the Okie Yolkie ride and bounce along on the Giddy Piggies ride. Don’t forget to sing and dance along with the Monkeys at Monkey Mischief.
Ahoy there! Time to take to the Jolly Pirate Ride – but you better watch out, for who knows were those wicked pirates are lying in wait with a surprise or two! Don’t forget your buckets and spades – you’ll need them in Captain Sandy’s Play Cove.

But no one can be scared of the delightful little friends whose lovely scenes lead us through the seasons on to the magical Sleigh Ride through Santa’s traditional winter wonderland, hey, what’s that reindeer doing in bed?! when you’re ready for a break, take the kids for a snack or a treat in one of our cafes or shops where there are lots of goodies available.

Also don’t forget, we’re open at Christmas, so come along and ride our fantastic night before Christmas ride before visiting Santa in his Lovely home and receive a free gift for all children aged 2 to 10 years.

User

visited yesterday, 2 adults and 2 children (3 & 4) amazing!!! there are just no words for this, not only did the kids enjoy it us adults did to! the park is clean and tidy and the gardens and lawns looked after. all the attractions were great fun, loved all the many different interactive buttons and bits, great. had us laughing and jumping hehe. only one thing i think needs adding is when the child is waiting to ride the driving school cars i think parents should be made aware the child will be sat watching a 4 min safety video, my child didnt quite understand and became upset while sitting in there alone with other childen and no adults, maybe the option to stay with your child should be given. but hey, deffo 5 stars from us!! well worth the drive and ticket price! we will be back!

User

What an amazing place to visit so much fun to be had by kids and adults (us adults had more fun than the kids!) you can spend all day from opening to closing here and not get bored as there is so much to do. It’s so magical. The park is very clean and tidy and the staff do an excellent job and are very polite and patient with the kids. If we didn’t live nearly 3 hours away we would be there a lot more often! Keep up the good work guys all staff are a credit to Sundown

We visited Sundown many times when my daughters were growing up as it was one of their favourite places to go. So it was wonderful to be back there this week with both daughters and my little granddaughter. We all had a fantastic time! We were very impressed with how well the park has been maintained, everything looked freshly painted and all of the rides were working well. Praise also to the staff, all of whom were friendly and helpful. What makes Sundown that little bit special is how 'magical' the place is - you feel like you're entering a fairytale land as soon as you enter. We were worried that my granddaughter might be a little too young to enjoy the experience (she's nearly two) but she loved it - especially the Rocky Mountain Railroad! We spent the entire day there and concluded that it was well worth the money. I'm now looking forward to many more visits!

We have been everything year, for years, through thick and thin, there are times where repainting is required, and a new ride is needed, and we get that. My kids and i love this place, but i have a few things i questioned, why do you not have any recycling bins? Also all the drinks you serve are in plastic, no cans to offer? All cakes wrapped in plastic, is there an alternative? Oh and on rides lanterns were on, using electricity, not needed, it was midday and 34 degrees, ostrich ride especially, they are 4 meters or something high, no one looks, or notices, so why have them on?

HOWEVER i must say you were excellent at understanding my weird ways with not using plastic, you improvised and used a paper bag to weigh my fudge, filled up our water bottles for us all day, popped our coffee directly into a vac cup we had, and the icing on the cake....you gave me a free Cuppa as i used my own cup, oh and you had wooden (bamboo i think) cutlery in crash landings! Well done!

I wonder if you could re think your plastic single use items a little more tho, its a hot topic at the moment, one close to my heart, we need companies to think about their waste, it affects us all , we will be back next year for sure, and fingers crossed, there will be more changes in place xxxx you have our support rest assured xxx

We came yesterday and had a fabulous time. 8 adults, 7 kids, no arguments, no drama, just an exciting day out for us all. There are loads of picnic areas, plenty of space between areas for running around, very friendly and helpful staff who obviously all enjoy their jobs. Refreshments reasonably priced and well placed facilities so the kids don't get caught short.

Would recommend it to everyone. It really let's the kids play and encourages their own imaginations.

Awesome way to enjoy wearing your children out!

User

We came here yesterday 2 adults, 2 kids (5 & 2) and granny on her electric scooter. We all had a brilliant time. There was plenty to do for the kids, not too busy so no long queues for the rides and really accessible for wheelchair users. They are happy for you to take a picnic too and provide lots of tables around the park to do so. I haven’t been for years (since it was pets corner) and pleased we decided to take our kids.

User

We came 6 years ago & although the kids enjoyed the day we thought it was very tired & run down.

We came back for the first tim yesterday, 4 kids, 7 adults & we all had a fantastic day! It’s almost like a different park! Well done on all the improvements! We will definitely return! We are even considering annual passes as the kids enjoyed it so much!

The one thing we’d love to see in the future is a splash park of some sort. Yesterday was a scorcher & a couple of fountains to run through or something similar would have been brilliant for a cool down 👌🏻

User

Thank you to the lovely maintenance guys who rescued my daughter's hat from so high up in a tree it required three long poles strapped together!! A freak twister wind blew across the car park just as we were leaving and took off with my daughter's favourite hat.. It was the freakiest thing I have ever seen! Anyway we had a lovely day and these two guys were so helpful!

User

Just Brilliant! We went today with our 2.5 year old and he loved it! Loads to do...no one could ever moan of being bored! Our son was able to go on all the rides with us. Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout the day. Play areas and toilets very clean. Good and clean baby changing facilities too. Both outdoor and indoor play areas catering for all ages. We were there 10-4 and probably could have gone round again for the rides but they did shut at 4 today...we were informed of this on arrival.

Be warned...read info they give you on the way in...the rides are open at select times on off-peak days (like today). Think it's because it's not that busy on days like today Really didn't notice as every time we ventured over into the next zone there was a ride open.

Lovely gorgeous warm weather...plenty of shade if need and indoor play areas and cafe if a break from the sun is needed.

User

I visited on Tuesday with my partner and our 2 year old daughter for her birthday and we had a fantastic time. It was our first visit and we thought the place was amazing, we all had a great time together, it was a brilliant family play experience and we can't wait to visit again, our little girl had so much fun all day.

User

I remember going before it became so popular. must be approx 40 years ago. there was only the original cafe, a small frog pond and a mouse house, swings and a trampoline back then. we took our 2 year old and 1 year old grandchildren and they loved it. staff are extremely friendly and helpful too

User

I cannot recommend this place enough! We had a fantastic time with my one year old daughter and can’t wait to come back again. The attention to detail is fantastic and we love the traditional feel. Thank you so much for a lovely day!

User

Brought my nephew (8) niece (6) and niece (1) yesterday. We got there at 10 and it was busy but we spent no longer than 5 mins queuing for a ride, the service in crash landings was quick and all the staff working on the rides were polite, helpful and full of smiles. Seeing Marshall was an added bonus as it made the children smile. Your new ride driving school was a huge hit and is such an asset to your park. All 3 children had a wonderful time.

User

Brilliant theme park for under 10’s. Really creative and fun place even for the adults. Very impressed with the staff they go that extra mile and in particular a lovely chap called Richard K who was on the tractor ride today. Will definitely go back

User

Amazing place! This is the first time we had been, our kids which are 3 and 7 enjoyed every minute of it. The food was good a very reasonably priced. Will definitely be going again, can't recommend it highly enough.

User

Lovely day the kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves and great value for money didn’t have to wait long for rides and never had to do the same thing over as there was so much for them!! However a couple of Villiages the buttons never worked so was a little let down by this.

User

I dubiously came with my 3 youngest in the summer holidays, and I'm glad we did, the weather was amazing and even though due to a diversion we got there at almost 11am there was barely a wait to get into the actual park, we didn't wait more than 5 mins to get on any ride, my son was disappointed although he was four he was not big enough for the new safari cars ride. They are redoing some of the characters and they look fantastic, the toilets and general park was really clean however there was a tonne of wasps. That's obviously not the parks fault, and when my little boy got stung by one the ride attendant was fantastic at calling a first aider, and them both making sure he was ok.....the only problem I encountered was the ostridge ride, the way it's made you need one adult to one child, however I have twins, and came on my own, they both were desperate to go on, but not tall enough to go by themselves, this was a huge disappointment to them, however some kind people and also the attendant to let me skip the line watched one of my children whilst I went round with the other. Other than this hiccup a great day out, my children will all be too old to visit again now hopefully it's still around for me to take my grandkids!

User

As much as it was a great day and a great time was had by all it was not very autism friendly one ride in particular my child had to go on it by herself with no adult because of height I said to the lady she is autistic and won't understand her response was that she would stop the ride if an accident was to occur I found this unacceptable and when I wanted to make a complaint we was stood waiting in a queue for ages again with an autistic child which can be quite stressful not for me but my child I wouldn't have minded but my child was wearing heelys (trainers with wheels) so of course she would have been taller then her actual height....at a loss for words really I was told I could go a separate carriage to my child (one behind her) which I did but thought it defeats the object of child safety which is quite sad really

User

We went with our two year old and she loved it. We had a lovely day, enjoyed all the rides, the food was reasonable; all very positive. That is until we went to the ‘Wild West’ section. We were so shocked by the racist language used on the train and in the show that we took our daughter out immediately. I didn’t imagine that she would ever here those words and attitudes, being born in 2015.
