Thank you for joining us in Cambridge at a very special evening for Symposia Iranica's opening reception celebrating Persian studies at Cambridge and honouring Charles Melville for his contributions to the field.

Many thanks to the 400 of you that responded to Symposia Iranica's call for papers in 2016, the results of the peer review process will be sent to each of you over the course of the coming week.
We're also delighted to announce that the American Institute of Iranian Studies has extended its travel fellowships to US citizens participating in the conference. Details of how to apply will be sent to you by email.
There's just one week until the deadline! Our Call for Abstracts ends next Friday, 2nd December.
Also, thank you to the over 140 early career scholars who have sent in abstracts already from Asia, Europe, Australasia, and North and South America - we look forward to welcoming many of you to Cambridge next year.
We're delighted to announce the Call for Papers for the Third Biennial Conference on Iranian Studies at Pembroke College, Cambridge, with a deadline of 2 December 2016.
We welcome proposals that engage with any aspect of Iranian studies within the arts, humanities, and social sciences. These include but are not limited to prehistory through to contemporary history; poetry and literature; economics; political science; philosophy; archaeology; religions and theology; historiog...raphy; sociology; anthropology; music; art and architecture history; social and political theory; cultural heritage; international relations; languages and linguistics; law and legal studies; Diaspora studies; new media and communication studies; film studies; and the performing arts. Comparative themes and interdisciplinary approaches are also very welcome.

Just a quick note to say we're excited to be making our 40 page conference report for the second Symposia Iranica publicly available in the coming weeks.
