#FridayFacts
Every Friday we'll post some 'facts' and information about mental health and wellbeing. The topic and focus of 'facts' will vary from week-to-week. The 'facts' this week are a little bit later than usual.
This week: here's some facts and myth-busting about feelings and emotions. I work with many people in therapy, CBT, counselling, in support groups, training and in other capacities who have come to believe (for many reasons) that feelings and emotions are 'bad',... a sign of 'weakness', 'too much', 'something to be avoided', and that will 'last forever', amongst many other things.
I work with many clients in therapy on emotional regulation, tolerating distress and uncomfortable feelings and this work can be very powerful, especially if they believe that feelings and emotions are 'bad' or 'intolerable'. Learning more about what feelings, emotions and moods are is really important and useful and can have a really good impact on our perception of what feelings and emotions are and on our mental and emotional wellbeing generally.
The poster below provides some 'facts' and 'myth-busting'. Hope you find the poster useful. Have a good weekend and feel free to browse our website or get in touch via email if you wish. All the best, Alexandra :-)

SEDIG's annual eating disorders conference is in Edinburgh this year and the theme is 'Obesity and Eating Disorders at Higher Weights'. Here's their conference poster below for anyone interested in attending.
I am attending, so I might see you there! Alexandra :-)

I saw this on another page and it's really important. As a small business ourselves, every little bit of support really helps small businesses, no matter what type of business it might be (therapy/counselling, deli, coffee shop, pet store, handmade cards, electrician, hairdressers etc.).
We support other small businesses ourselves when and where we can. Thanks for any support you can give my small business or any other. Thanks, Alexandra :-)

CAN YOU HELP WITH A PROJECT ABOUT EATING DISORDERS AND OUR RELATIONSHIPS WITH FOOD PLEASE?
These ladies are working on a project related to eating disorders. They intend to create a drama/theatre piece based on the pressure surrounding relationships with food, especially as young adults. They plan for their piece to be based on a series of interviews, discussing experiences and changing relationships with food.
They are students and not receiving any money from the Universit...y to fund our venture, we are using a crowdfunder page as our only source of funding. This aims to cover travel costs and accommodation in Glasgow. They would be extremely grateful if you could help them achieve their project which will help raise awareness of eating disorders and get people talking about eating disorders.
Please see the link below. They would be extremely grateful and happy if you could help. Thanks in advance, Alexandra, Talking EDs

We all show or express that we are anxious (consciously or unconsciously) in different ways.
