Wonderfully deep & intense Acting training, my first insight into the Stanford Meisner Technique. Great place to feel safe to express yourself & go much deeper in your studies, with a supportive community of teachers & students to guide you through the processes.

User

The actors temple is a great place for any actor to go and stretch themselves. The work the teachers stimulate in you is always personal, always open and honest, and always rewarding.

They offer flexible training and through this I've been lucky enough to experience a few different teachers on the core modules and I can genuinely say every one of them offers a safe place to work from, encouraging you to make your work raw and unpredictable, truthful and open. Both Law and Ashlie have challenged and encouraged me in their classes and it's a great place to learn and grow as an actor.

I'd encourage anyone looking to get deeper into their work or curious about meisner to get down here.

User

Such an amazing place for training in central London! So many different options for training and adhoc classes too! Perfect for actors who are invested in their craft.

User

Recently took the Overcoming Fear with Law Ballard. Law is brilliant. Encouraging, down-to-earth and very nurturing in her guidance. The solution to performance anxiety is so incredibly simple, yet I would never have got there if it wasn't for Law. The course isn't a quick fix but a long term strategy on dealing with anxiety and I would highly recommend it. Thank you Law!

User

I’ve just finished the Core Training and I really loved it. My favourite thing about the training is that you’re given the time and encouragement to explore your own quirks and emotional reality and then the space to leave it all alone and focus outwards not inwards. I am so thankful to have had Nicole as a teacher, her dedication to the craft and to finding truth has really inspired me. Through the challenges of the technique and learning to live truthfully, I’ve felt completely supported and encouraged. It’s a great community of people, and I’ve loved my classes with Tom Sawyer and the Overcoming Fear workshop with Law Ballard too. Excited to have begun my acting life here and can’t wait to do and learn more!

User

I'm attending The Foundation course at the moment. I'm loving it! I will buy more lessons to keep practicing and will do The Core. Meisner opens a new world and Tom Sawyer is great!

User

I trained on the two year course with Simon and not only do I feel I got some excellent tools for my actors toolkit, I also learnt a lot about myself and the type of actor I want to be. I can honestly say, the Actors Temple is a great place to train but more importantly, it's a community which exactly what we need as actors. I highly recommend it.

User

I trained at the Actors Temple for a year and thought it was an excellent experience. I completed intro classes with both Nicole Gaskell and Tom Sawyer, who were both inspirational, and I also had the privilege of training under the wonderful Law Ballard for the five modules of the core training. Law is experienced, perceptive, patient, and takes a personal interest in each student to help develop us to our full potential. The instructors at the AT are all working actors - you learn from people who are passionate about their craft and committed to helping others to grow. The school has become an invaluable community for me - a place to be both challenged and encouraged. I can't recommend it enough!

User

I signed up to the Foundation Course with Nicole Gaskell, with absolutely no expectations. The work was more than fantastic. Everyone in this course, was really supportive and all understood how challenging this work can be. Its more than just hearing the words of the other person in front of you. Being connected emotionally and really listen to the people, is what was missing in my work as an Actor. I am really looking forward to explore more of all this in the core training. I recently took the Overcoming Fear workshop at the AT with Law and l can honestly say that l found it very useful. I suffer from terrible stage fright so terrible that when all eyes are on me l completely freeze and my nerves get the better of me. Not to mention l blush like crazy. This workshop has made me realise that it's okay to feel fear and understand that fear is part of the process of putting myself out there and facing circumstances that are outside of my comfort zone. And the key to managing my fear is to feel the fear but do it anyway.

Law is a wonderful teacher. Very patient, genuine, expressive, honest and understanding. Thank you Law for your guidance. Much appreciated. I probably will take this workshop again as it's helped me greatly.

I recently attended the three day 'Work Your Monologue' intensive taught by Nicole Gaskell and found it extremely insightful.

Monologue prep is usually a lonely affair but being able to do it in a group, using Meisner techniques and being able to get constructive criticism as well made the process more fulfilling. The intensive enabled me to know my monologues strengths and my weaknesses. It taught me a fresh way to approach the process and gave me instructions on how to improve on my existing monologue or how to prepare/ approach any future monologue work. I think that The Actors temple should implement this workshop as an ongoing class because actors always need help with monologues as audition pieces, showcases or for show reels.

User

I really like going to the Actor's Temple. I did two very great accent classes there (RP und Standard American) and I improved my speech a lot. Those classes were with Ty Glaser, an incredibly talented and fun teacher to work with. She really wants you to learn as much as you can and therefore critiques you a lot, which I cherish. How else could you grow?

The temple also does casting/cold reading exercises and they offer Meisner training which is a very helpful acting technique.

User

I just completed the foundation course and cannot recommend this place enough. As a recent drama school grad & currently working actor I've sampled a lot of different acting techniques and truly feel that my training at The Actors' Temple has been one of the most valuable experiences yet. You learn so much about yourself through this process; learn to be utterly in the moment, and to stop holding in emotions you didn't even know you were holding in! At one point or another I think everyone in our class, myself included, had a real breakthrough moment - which was fascinating to see and really inspiring to be a part of. If you're in the market for acting classes, definitely check 'em out!

User

I have spoken to a few students that have said in a nut shell; The Actors' Temple is a sheer talented hand to the craft of acting to its fullest extent preparing you delightfully compassionate while full of Rage and sarcasm! I sure hope this statement to those of you whom have attended.

User

I have just completed the amazing 'overcoming fear' workshop with Law and have to say I found the guidance calming, positive and Law really allowed me to go deep inside to feel the fear or nerves and to name the feeling. Then sit with it and accept and work through without panic but to say my monologue in a way I never could have imagined. Other useful ideas came up which are too detailed to go into, but it was 100% worth the money.

The AT offers a wide selection of courses aside the repetition, core and advanced training and the costs are very affordable and accessible to all. Worth looking at the website, sign up for the weekly newsletter or simply just come along to work in a safe environment to allow yourself to 'Let it Go' truthfully. I'm about to start the final Module of the Core training which has given me constant positive and constructive help. Sometimes it's tough and it's messy but worth it. After all, in this industry, if you can't take the feedback, then you would not survive. I'm pleased that I have embarked on the training year and have learnt more about myself and the tools needed to go deeper in the last few months than I have when studying film acting in a year! Thanks to the guidance of the brilliant teachers at Actors' Temple.

User

I have done the meisner foundation and monologue workshop with Nicole and they were both a revelation. Nicole’s direction allowed me to find really sincere and powerful emotions within myself, and ways to access them on my own. Defo recommend.

User

Here they aim to shape artists who value their craft. Each teacher has a different style, but they are all very passionate and committed to helping you develop, using the Meisner technique, to live truthfully under the imaginary circumstances. It has impacted me profoundly, particularly under @ashliewalkertutor's guidance. I recommend it to anyone who is serious about acting, and who wants to play and explore what that means.

User

Coming to the actors temple to observe a class for the first time 4 years ago was like a breath of fresh air in an acting world that lacked depth - what I saw were truthful deep and beautiful connections between 2 human beings played out infront of my eyes and I wanted a peice of that pie - since then I've trained on the 16 week and done other classes that have helped me gain depth in my acting I wouldn't have had without the training - the support you can have that emerges organically at the actors temple is beautifully unique and the more you invest in being there the better it is for networking, hearing about projects and having the boldness to create your own - thank you Actors Temple <3

I have spoken to a few students that have said in a nut shell; The Actors' Temple is a sheer talented hand to the craft of acting to its fullest extent preparing you delightfully compassionate while full of Rage and sarcasm! I sure hope this statement to those of you whom have attended.

I have done the meisner foundation and monologue workshop with Nicole and they were both a revelation. Nicole’s direction allowed me to find really sincere and powerful emotions within myself, and ways to access them on my own. Defo recommend.

After satisfying my curiosity with the Taster class, I signed up to the Foundation Course with Nicole Gaskell and it was absolutely fantastic. She created an incredibly supportive environment and really understands how challenging it can be for a student. I learnt so much about myself and learnt how to listen to other people, not just their words but their feelings. This was definitely a missing piece in my actor's toolkit and I'm looking forward to exploring this more in the core training.

Wonderfully deep & intense Acting training, my first insight into the Stanford Meisner Technique. Great place to feel safe to express yourself & go much deeper in your studies, with a supportive community of teachers & students to guide you through the processes.

Such an amazing place for training in central London! So many different options for training and adhoc classes too! Perfect for actors who are invested in their craft.

I'm attending The Foundation course at the moment. I'm loving it! I will buy more lessons to keep practicing and will do The Core. Meisner opens a new world and Tom Sawyer is great!
