The Beehive is a popular, cosy, family run country freehouse pub located in the parish of Epping Green (near Hertford).
The Beehive Description
Food is an integral part of the Beehive's success, and the seasonally changing specials board and main menu provide a tempting combination of traditional dishes and new ideas. Fresh fish delivered daily from Billingsgate is one of the reasons this has become such a popular dining venue. Battered cod, plaice and skate are always at the top of the list of favourites. Other seafood options include oak smoked haddock topped with a poached egg, sea bass fillets, breaded scampi and the classic scallops and bacon, as well as other seasonal fish dishes and delicious crab or smoked salmon starters.

Hanging baskets and window boxes adorn the frontage all year round, and inside it's traditional to the core, with black beams, a log burner and ornamental brasses but with a modern touch.
There is plenty of choice for meat eaters as well, including a chicken, ham hock and leek pie, lamb shoulder in minted gravy, a tasty bacon and brie beef burger, gammon and choice of steaks.
Vegetarians are definitely not forgotten with a vast selection to suit everyone, some being coeliac friendly too.
Sandwiches, light bites and jacket potatoes provide a satisfying snack for those with a lighter appetite or less time to spare and are always available.
A good choice of real ales ( with cask masque accreditation) are always available, headed by Greene King IPA and Morelands Old Golden Hen and a third pump hosts a selection of guest ales, all of which can be enjoyed in the bar or outside on the decked or grass areas overlooking the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside.
Lee Valley park and Broxbourne woods provide excellent opportunities for ramblers and nature lovers.

Went for New Year’s Eve lunch, food was lovely, but service was slow, considering there were only a handful of people in there, staff were polite.
Took my dad for an early Fathers Day we both had the small fish and chips. It's was so yummy we both enjoyed it very much it was a lovely sunny day with a wonderful view across the valley. It's a real local gem!
The food is really good and eating outside on a sunny day is a bonus .....
Lovely pub yesterday was my 4th visit and won't be my last. Had my first roast yesterday from there and no complaints all very fresh veg and the meat was spot on absolutely lovely. Will definitely be going again :)

Early Sunday lunch in this diamond of a find In the quiet country lanes. A warm welcome and amazing food made an amazing end to our weekend. With our hearts set in a roast dinner we couldn't decide between lamb and beef thankfully we was offered a mix of both which was the best of both world's. Swiftly delivered a full plate of juicy well cooked (medium) meat , crispy roast potatoes 2x yorkies and perfectly (in my opinion) cooked veg placed in front of us and just as I decided my route of attack along come a massive bowl of cauliflower cheese holden brown and lots of sauce.
I highly recommend a visit to this little pub with huge character and old style vibes. The menu was a maze of amazing mouth watering options and nearly demoted me away from a Sunday tradition. A selection of steaks burgers and fresh fish options ensure a revisit from myself my family and friends.

Surprisingly busy for a Friday evening, so was Lucky to get in without a booking. Food was yummy, very good on the portion size and well presented, would thoroughly recommend. Staff attentive, not overly, but friendly. Will definetly be back.
