When a manufacturer produces a machine as handsome as the Norton Dominator it takes restraint to not spoil it with too much flair
72 Motorcycles benefit from the ying and yang of bike building, creativity and engineering equally tempered by the duo behind the Ron Wood tribute Norton MM

DirtQuake has been a part of our summer for nearly as long as we've been 'doing' the Bike Shed and we're excited to see this year's event move to a new venue on August 18th
Arena Essex will host DQ VII which is great for logistics being situated right next to the M25 and easily accessible for pretty much everyone (the north is far from everywhere, which can't be helped) and smugly for us we'll be able to ride there from London in just half an hour
The stadium is a natural amp...hitheatre making for great spectating and there's loads of parking. We're really looking forward to trying the new track and hanging out with old friends - see you there

You don't have to be in Shoreditch to to buy the latest Bike Shed apparel, nowhere near in fact
Robert Gorecki has set up a new store in the bustling post-industrial city of Lodz in central Poland. Nowhere to Nowhere stocks some of the world's best brands in a beautiful bare brick utopia with decent coffee on tap and loads of bike parking. Sound familiar......Robert lived around the corner for a couple of years.
If you're in the area pop in and check it out. And if you're nowhere near the area but want to stock BSMC gear then give us a shout

We're big fans of NEXX Helmets and sell loads of them in our online and Shoreditch stores, so we're a bit biased when it comes to talking about them
As part of their Workshop Series Return of the Cafe Racers interviewed NEXX's founder Hélder Loureiro to get the lowdown on how this Portuguese manufacturer manages to produce top notch lids for sensible money while keeping 100% of the manufacturing process in-house

The BSMC x NEXX Helmets XG100R collaboration helmet has been so popular since we launched it at our May Event that it has been snapped up by almost as many of our crew as customers. Our Events Manager Mark got his just in time to fly round Lydden Hill at the weekend for our first ever Cafe Racer Cup festival.

One of Dutch's bikes is for sale.
A Ducatista at heart he couldn't turn down this GT1000 when it was offered for sale last summer. It was a perfectly lovely original example but it was whisked straight off to @raypettymeccanica for new Alpina wheels, Brembo Goldline brakes and a carbon seat
Sadly he's got one too many toys and not enough space to keep them so this one has to go

Why didn’t we have a women’s class at the Café Racer Cup? Well, we figure equality means exactly that – riding and racing bikes is for all to enjoy. Throttle control, body position, finesse, feeling and attitude – it’s that stuff that makes the difference on two wheels, not anatomy.
Hairpin Journal, a blog written by women, about women who ride, created a brilliant piece and some stunning photos.

A hugely popular staple here at the ‘Shed this summer has been the Knox Trekker back pack. A smart backpack that's highly functional and as durable as your leather jacket, it’ll protect your packed lunch whether you’re riding to work or to the sunny coast with your mates. Fully waterproof and with a 15” laptop dry bag section inside, this will protect everything you hold dear whether you’re caught in a shower or your Ribena carton explodes.

The Great Mile is well underway, with the riders currently snaking down the west side of the UK. Incredible scenery and even better company, we're jealous we're not riding it too!

WATCH THE FULL VIDEO HERE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tot-JnPRz wA&t=5s
For the second instalment of our "Meet the Makers” series Dan and Gareth headed over to Knox’s London design base to meet brother and sister team April and Aaron. They told us the story of how their father, Geoff Travell - motorcycle racer, upholsterer and entrepreneur - designed the very first back protector and established the Knox we know today. After hearing their tales of racing, famous riders, p...laying in the factory, crashes and much more history besides we delve into Knox as it is now. A British company at the forefront of protective motorcycle apparel tech and design.
You can see many of the products discussed in the vid in store and over at our Web Shop in partnership with Urban Rider. Link below.
