This was our first time at the Brit. The food was delicious probably one of the best meals out weŌĆÖve had in a long time. We had a waitress couldnŌĆÖt do anymore for us she was so friendly and when asked which gin to go for she recommended the cherry bakewell. I would highly recommend the steak it was so soft good portion size and the cheese board was the best IŌĆÖve had. Well done Brit we will be coming back again!!

Having left the Brit back in may to relocate with my young family to Dorset it was the only reason I left. It was an absolute pleasure to work with such lovely people, two owners who put their heart and soul into the pub and it was an amazing experience to help lead the kitchen team for nearly two years and I enjoy hearing the constant great feedback the pub continues to get. IŌĆÖm sure it will continue to go from strength to strength with Phil Heidal and Gemma at the helm along with the amazing staff I was lucky enough to work with and pick up more awards for the experiences they love to put on. I wish you all well as always, itŌĆÖs the place that will live with me for years to come with what I was lucky enough to help achieve with you amazing guys and girls!!! There is no place around the area that compares to the Brit.Keep up the amazing work I shall be back for a surprise visit in the future!!!

Had a family meal here on Easter Sunday, and unfortunately, we were all left very disappointed.

Firstly, we ordered 3 coffees and a tea. Two coffees came with the tea, but the third coffee had to come from a new pot which was brewing. The first two coffees had obviously been sat in the pot a while as they were like warm. The third coffee was fresh.

We ordered three beef dinners. The beef was very chewy and had quite a bit of fat through it. Two wafer thin slices per person. The dinner also consisted of one boiled potato, one roast potato, and a massive Yorkshire pudding which was unfortunately very burned (actually tasted like charcoal). The vegetables that were brought to share between four people were very small portions, and the swede mash (at least I think it was that) was watery and reminiscent of baby food.

We had no check-back from any serving staff, at all. In fact, it was really difficult to find any serving staff at all. The service was very slow, and one staff member made a particular faux pas when serving us desserts, which we were upset about. A staff member (who appeared to be in charge) dealt with the dessert situation, and removed the price of them from the final bill, which we were very grateful for. Unfortunately, by this point, it was too late to retrieve the experience.

Having visited this establishment many times previously, and always being happy with both food and service, it felt the right choice for a special family meal. We were wrong, and it is doubtful that we will pay another visit.

User

Slow service (would understandable if busy) and what they served was a joke I have had better pot noodles. Do yourself a favour avoid this place.
