About The British American Drama Academy

The British American Drama Academy (BADA) was founded in 1983 to enable students from around the world to study classical theatre with leading actors and directors of the British stage.

Alum Rob Nagle (MIO '91) is starring as Oscar Wilde in the Boston Court Pasadena's production of "The Judas Kiss" by David Hare! The play focuses on two pivotal moments of Wilde's life and his tempestuous relationship to his beloved, Lord Alfred Douglas.
The production will run through March 24 at the Boston Court Pasadena in Pasadena, CA. Congrats Rob!

The March 1st application deadline for our 2019 programmes is fast approaching! Be sure to apply before the end of next week if you are interested in attending our Summer 2019 Midsummer in Oxford Program (18+), Midsummer Conservatory Program (16 - 18) or the Fall 2019 London Theatre Program (Fall Semester) or London Theatre Program ('19 - '20 Year Long).

Alum Oberon K. A. Adjepong (MIO '99) is in London for the Young Vic's production of "Jesus Hopped the 'A' Train" by Stephen Adly Guirgis! The dark comedy explores the American criminal justice system and the nature of faith when young man accused of murdering a cult leader is confronted with a charismatic born-again serial killer and a sadistic guard during a lockdown at Rikers Island prison.
The production begins performances tonight and will run through March 30, with Press Night schedule for February 21, at the Young Vic in London.

Alum Mary Regalado (LTP '14 - '15) will be playing Hermia in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" with The Shakespeare Project of Chicago! The organization is a not-for-profit dedicated to producing theatrical readings of Shakespeare and his contemporaries with an emphasis on text, sharing the words of great dramatists with the Chicago community.
Performances will take place from February 15 - 22 at venues around Chicago. All performances are free and tickets must be reserved in advance.

Masterclass instructor David Suchet is starring opposite Brendan Coyle in Arthur Miller's "The Price" in London!
The West End transfer of Theatre Royal Bath's production, marking the play's 50th anniversary, follows two estranged as they meet for the first time in sixteen years to sell their family furniture stored in the attic of a condemned New York brownstone.
Performances begin tonight and will run through April 27, with Opening Night set for February 11.

Alums in Chicago - once it's a little warmer, be sure to check out alum Toya Turner (MIO '14) who is starring in A Red Orchid Theatre's production of "Fulfillment Center" by Abe Koogler.
In "Fulfillment Center", a down-on-her-luck folk singer takes a job at a giant online retailer’s shipping center in the New Mexico desert, and four lonely lives come together in search of connection.
"Fulfilment Center" starts tomorrow (tonight's first preview has been cancelled due to the we...ather), opens February 10th, and will run through March 24 at A Red Orchid Theatre in Chicago.

Alums in DC - Alex Michell (MIO '17) is appearing in the Folger Theatre's production of "Nell Gwynn" as Ned Spigget!
The play, originally commissioned by Shakespeare's Globe, tells the story of Nell, who was one of the first actresses on the English stage and a mistress to King Charles II.
Performances begin January 29 and will run through March 10 at the Folger Theatre in Washington, DC.

Alum Quetzalli Cortés (MIO '11) is part of the cast of "Diablero", Netflix's first series produced in Mexico! Set in a demon-infested Mexico City, "Diablero" is a dark fantasy thriller that follows a priest and a demon hunter attempting to rescue a kidnapped girl.
The Spanish-language series premiered globally on Netflix in December. Congrats, Quetzalli!

Alum Mamie Gummer (MIO '04) joins the cast of "True Detective" in the third season, which premieres tonight!
The new season of the crime anthology series explores a macabre crime in the Ozarks and its impact on the lives of those involved over the course of three decades. Mamie plays Lucy Purcell, the estranged mother of the two children at the center of the crime.
"True Detective" returns tonight at 9:00 PM on HBO.

Congrats to alum David O’Leary (MIO ’01) who is the Creator and Co-Executive Producer of the new series “Project Blue Book”, which chronicles the real-life U.S. Air Force investigations into UFOs starting in the early 1950s, told through the eyes of a college professor recruited by the Air Force to spearhead the clandestine operation.
Starring Aidan Gillen (“Game of Thrones”) and Executive Produced by Robert Zemeckis (“Contact”), each episode draws from actual case files, blending UFO theories with authentic historical events from one of the most mysterious eras in U.S. history.
“Project Blue Book” premieres tonight at 10 PM on History.
