Stunning building! A vast array of things to look at - we focused on the Egyptian displays and that took us a couple of hours to get round. It's worth planning what you want to see before you go. There is a fabulous book shop too which stocks a wide variety of things in addition to books. The food court is lovely. The museum is definitely a great place to visit.

Quite simply one of the most impressive museums in the world. Extremely lucky to have this treasure only a short train journey away. Architecturally, it manages to fuse old with the new combining the grandeur and monumentally impressive exterior with its centuries old stone work with a modern light filled interior main hall punctuated by a stunning honeycomb glass ceiling. This is all before even touching on the huge collection of objects, Art and artifacts that make up the museums collection. Covering every period and area of interest from the Egyptians to the Greeks to old world curiosities, there is absolutely something for everyone. Very easy to spend a whole day here and only scratch the surface. Highly highly recommended.

Amazing museums, one of the absolute best in London. Such a wide variety of cultures is represented, it is truly an experience, you will learn a lot in a short time and it will open your mind to different regions of the world, eras of history and forms of art. Building in itself is absolutely magnificent. The whole place is worth a visit (allow for at least 3h for a good visit). Deserves more stars.

A fantastic museum with so many things to see inside. Last time we were there they had a special exhibition about history of money. So much to learn about it. The building is magnificent and empowers you to even be inside it. Children especially love the Egyptian section and the bit where mummies are. I can't wait to go here again soon.
They have an excellent collection of ancient Chinese coins.Lovely fantastic idols.
Indian architecture is greatest.
The place is full of wonders, too many to explore and appreciate in one day though. Risk for children to get bored as there are so many exhibitions. The free map provides a 'quick tour of main things to see' which is handy if you have limited time / exploring with children.
