The sun is shining, there’s a subtle breeze flowing through the valley, it must be time for a refreshing cider, surely !?!
Thanks Bob, always great to hear your feedback 🍻
We are open today, but please bear with us as it’s only the 2 of us! (Took me half an hour to get to work today and I only live upstairs! 😳 #snowdrift ) 12 til 3pm back again at 6pm!
It’s not too late to book a romantic evening out with your loved one💞💘💞! Howard has come up with a fabulous 3 course menu which includes a sparkling Pinot Rosé on arrival and we’ll have the fires roaring for that cosy atmosphere.
Dry January is over! Come drink beer! 🍻🥂🍷
Yes it’s miserable outside, but we’ve got the fire going and some great, warming specials on the board. We’ve also tweaked the menu a little to try some new ideas. So it will be great to see you soon. Show us the attached voucher Mon - Sat for an even better reason to visit!🍽
Amazing blue skies above Sheepscombe this morning makes for the most beautiful scenery! Has been a bit icy this morning but cars are making it through and the sun will help. After the unfortunate powercut of yesterday we're looking forward to seeing you all today!🌞☃
We always go first Thursday of the month for the monthly quiz. It is great fun with a really good crowd. The food is great; the pies are very popular and a good selection of veggie dishes and the sticky toffee pudding a reason to go alone!
This place ..... I cannot believe I haven't been before now.
What an amazing place. The staff, the venue the small details, everything was wonderful. Im hard to please.
Perfect rib of beef roast. I cannot get over the prices for what you get.
Even the condiments are well thought out!
Thank you so much, we will definitely be back again.

This is a quirky, inviting and quintessentially English inn. Super hospitality from the staff and highly recommend the fish platter to share...perfect for a relaxed supper out.
The best meal I had this Christmas season. Absolutely delicious and loads of veg with lovely Hake.
On our way back to Yorkshire from Yeovil we wandered off the beaten track looking for lunch and ended up at The Butchers Arms. What a hidden gem! Great welcome, quaint and comfortable and lovely food. What a find! 10/10
My favourite pub. Excellent pub food, great beer.
Many thanks to your so friendly staff and your superb kitchen staff for dishing up scrummy food again, this time for my darling wife Sylvia's birthday gathering of 10 of us in your newest annex. Jorg and his wife Sylvia, from Germany also loved it.
**Our favourite Dog Friendly Pub**
Lovely place. Definitely go back again. The staff were real nice and helpful. We sat out the front in sun. We had steak, ale & stilton pie, it was huge and tasted lush.
Lovely atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff and the roast beef Sunday lunch was the best I've had in a long, long time eating out... The Yorkshire Puds were worth it on their own! We'll be back soon...
I cannot thank you enough for helping to make my week in the village so rewarding and enjoyable. Your kitchen is excellent, your prices are reasonable and your staff are friendly and helpful. Just a joy to come back to.
Great pub, efficient and pleasant staff served a delicious sunday roast, Gloucestershire Old Spot of course. Banoffi pie to die for and my partner had sticky toffee pud which disappeared with a smile!
First time we have been there, recommended to us by others. Had the soup to start and the meat pie for main and it was all lovely. Very tasty and big portions. Would defiantly go there again
Fantastic country pub, great menu and full of character.
Always a pleasure to visit and enjoyed sitting outside to admire the garden and views today. Despite being busy the staff were still pleasant and attentive. The mixed berry Stowford Press with a handful of fresh berries added was perfect.
Fantastic Christmas day lunch. We were so lucky that they could squeeze us in on such a busy day.
The meal and hospitality were first rate and we intend to visit as often as possible for the remainder of our stay in the area.
Another great meal, great service and great atmosphere. Never stop wanting to go back for great traditional pub grub with good beer.
Always a place full of heartwarming memories for the 'Holford' family. The most cherished of locations, superb food which is hot, hearty and delicious. Great beers, wonderful atmosphere and somewhere we will always recommend and return to when we visit the place we will always call home, to toast our much missed 'Phil' and beloved Holford family members. Quintessentially English country village and pub. What could ever be better?
The food was good, drink selection very good and staff very friendly we we there at 19.30 hours for dinner - it was very busy but by 20:30 it had got a lot less busy
We had a lovelly evening in this smart country pub
Thank you
Nice village pub. Good atmosphere and friendly staff. We has fish and chips which was delicious. Only drawback is getting there and back, roads quite narrow, we had to reverse back 4 times trying to get to the main road.
