The Chiltern Pools

The 8 of us, 4 adults, 4 children went today. When we got to reception, on the door was a sign saying that the pool was only 27 degrees due to a heater breaking. The water was freezing cold, but as we kept on moving around we made it for 1 hour.

Positive: The ladies changing room was clean and tidy, and when we was getting dressed a cleaner was in their the whole time.

Negative: 2/4 showers not working

My husband said that the men’s changing room was very dirty and lots of wrist bands were all over the floor.

Staff was polite and honest about the temperature of the water, however due to us coming from 30 minutes away, we risked it.

Would we return when the water is the correct temperature? Yes I would

The pool was freezing. Blue lips not long before half an hour of being in the pool. Changing rooms were very dirty. Staff all seemed happy and chatty though.

Took my three grandsons here yesterday. The thing about having to be able to swim a whole length of the main pool in order to go on the slides and use the small pool is ridiculous, as the water at the bottom is only 8" deep. Not a problem for my three as they have all learned to swim from a very young age and two of them attend diving classes at Amersham, but still they are made to swim the length! For observers of the chutes there is hardly any seating on the balcony outside the diving pool and it is very, very hot up there (hot air rising and all that). Take lots of water!! They urgently need a vending machine somewhere in the building to buy bottled water. After one hour watching I had a splitting headache from the heat and my eyes were stinging from the chlorine and I hadn't even been in the water! Staff didn't seem to want to be there and the man on reception had an unhelpful attitude with the family in front of me in the queue, as it was their first visit, he did not explain the procedure well and expected them to know. Three brothers playing together in the water, being closely watched by me, constantly having the whistle blown at them for simply playing. They were not being a nuisance or danger to anyone else. The big brother 12 was giving the youngest 8 a piggyback in the pool and was told to stop. Ridiculous! The whole place is grubby and tired.

Took my 16yr old son and his 2 cousins there today and at the desk (4 men)had no problem accepting that my son was 16 but then when he went into the pool itself some little jumped up kid (who must have thought he was big and clever)had the audacity to tell my son he didn’t look 16 and wouldn’t let him into the pool with his 5 year old cousin.

Maybe said kid hasn’t been educated correctly by his parents or is just a bully......can’t decide which one as I now have a very annoyed son and 2 very upset nephews.

Maybe he should be taught about puberty before he thinks he’s clever and questions people who may or may not look their age.

WHAT A DREADFUL PLACE AND I KNOW UNDERSTAND WHY IT WAS EMPTY IM SCHOOL HOLIDAYS!!!!!
