David Brown Trophy, Aston Martin Owners and all things AML

'DB' perhaps the best known initials in the motoring world, are those of Sir David Brown.
David Brown bought Aston Martin in 1947, after numerous successful business ventures with agricultural and military equipment manufacturing. With Aston Martin he created the handsome DB2 from marrying the fine handling Aston chassis with the twin-cam six cylinder engine of the Bentley developed Lagonda, (DB also purchased that himself) and so the DB badged sporting legend began.
David Brown went on to initiate a racing program that brought Aston Martin worldwide fame, with the culmination of that success winning the 1959 world sports car championship, the first time this prestigious motorsport trophy had been won by a British team.
David Brown had many interests beyond Aston Martin Lagonda. He raced horses and hunters on his 700 acre farm in Buckinghamshire, achieving notable success in the 1957 Cheltenham Gold Cup with Linwell at odds of 100-9.
Winter sports for David Brown included hunting with the South Oxfordshire, where he was Master of Hounds. In summertime he played Polo at Ham Polo Club, (Richmond, London), also with the Household Brigade at Windsor and at the Royal County of Berkshire.
In 2013 The David Brown Trophy was the catalyst to form the Aston Martin Centenary Event in Richmond, celebrating 100 years of Aston Martin. The Event Supported The Poppy Factory in 2013 and their work with wounded armed forces personnel.
2016 and the David Brown Trophy returned with beautiful cars, including a Heritage display from Aston Martin Works, new Aston Martins from Aston Martin Chichester and support from HWM Aston Martin. Ecurie Bertelli celebrated 40yrs of excellence with their pre war Aston Martins and our fashion partner Maude and Fox delighted our guests with Best of British tweeds and Les Bouffant Cakes gave us something sweet to nibble! The David Brown Trophy was won by Team Vantage who beat Lagonda, in a very competitive match with world class polo players.

David Brown a continué sa rêve quand il a lancer un programme de course qui a contribuer à la renommée mondiale de la marque Aston Martin et qui a permet a Aston Martin de gagner le Worlds Sportscar Championship de FIA en 1959, la première fois que ce trophée prestigieux a été gagner par une équipe britannique!
David Brown avait beaucoup d’intérêts a part de Aston Martin Lagonda. Il avait son domaine a la campagne de plus de 700 âcres en Buckinghamshire où il a élevé ses chevaux et avec lesquels il a eu de succès, son cheval Linwell a gagné le Cheltenham Gold Cup en 1957 a une cote de 100 contre 9.
En hiver il aimait aller a la chasse avec la Chasse South Oxfordshire, ou il était le Master of Hounds (la Spécialiste des chiens de chasse). En été il aimait jouer au polo à Ham (près de Londres), c’est le bas que le grand événement pour fêter 100 ans d’Aston Martin organiser par l’équipe du Trophée DB a eu lieu. DB a aussi joué au polo avec l’équipe de Household Brigade de l’Armée Britannique à Windsor.
En 2013 le match de polo pour gagner le Trophée David Brown était le pinacle de notre événement qui avait lieu à Richmond en Surrey pour fêter le centenaire d’Aston Martin.
En 2016 le Trophée David Brown a retourné avec des super-belles voitures, inclus une exposition par Aston Martin Works des anciennes voitures Aston Martin, des nouvelles Aston Martins montre par Aston Martin Chichester avec le soutien de HWM Aston Martin. Ecurie Bertelli a fêté quarante ans avec une exposition des voitures Aston d’avant-guerre. Notre partenaire de mode – Maud and Foxx nous a diverti avec un défilé de mode pour présenter leurs designs mode fabriquer en tweed anglais. Au même temps Les Bouffant Cakes nous a donné quelque choses délicieuses pour cracker ! Le Trophée David Brown était gagné par l’équipe Vantage qui a battu Lagonda dans un match très compétitive jouer par des joueurs de polo de classe mondiale !
