About The Duke Of Kent, Ealing

Great food, friendly service and first-rate beer. The simple, winning formula that makes The Duke of Kent one of the best pubs in Ealing.

The Duke Of Kent, Ealing Description

Our pub has a very interesting history that dates back to Georgian times. Today though, we offer a winning combination of great food (freshly prepared), excellent beers and wines, topped with superb service.

Renowned for great pub food, The Duke of Kent offers a seasonal A La Carte menu alongside delicious daily specials. To drink, choose from fine ales, wines and spirits. Using locally-sourced produce wherever possible, Head Chef, Kevin Jones creates simple yet stunning dishes that guarantee to put a smile on your face. Our wonderfully satisfying A La Carte menus change regularly to make the best of seasonal produce, while specials change daily to provide a wealth of choice every day. Of course on a Sunday, it simply has to be our very special roast dinner.

We can provide high chairs and a dedicated kids menu, we've also got plenty of space for prams!

In warm weather to enjoy our huge beer garden at its best! Then in winter, cosy up next to the fireplace and relax on one of our sofas!

With our Garden looking better and better by the day we thought we ought to pay some attention to the inside of our pub.
Unfortunately this means our doors will be closed from tomorrow (Monday 14th May) to re-open as usual on Friday 18th May.
Apologies for any inconvenience but we hope to see you next weekend looking smarter, shinier and sunnier! 🌟☉🎉

User

What a difference two weeks makes!
Two weeks to go until our lovely sandpit is transformed into an exciting new garden.

Hi Folks. Emma will be visiting the Duke of Kent with her dad, who will be enjoying a pint or two of after running in the London Marathon. She is nearly at her target. Any help would be fantastic.

User

Apologies for missing this (long overdue) upturn in weather!
Our garden is currently sprucing up for the (hopefully) even nicer days to come! ☀☉☀
We're aiming to be back in action mid May but will make sure everyone knows when it's reopening and looking 'summer body ready'!

Wonderful time had yesterday afternoon/evening! The new playground was an absolute hit and the children’s meals (fish and chips) were well cooked, and to a high standard. Thank you for helping us kick off half term! We will definitely be visiting again soon.

User

Had a lovely summers day in the garden yesterday for my friends birthday. Good food and good wine. The best pub garden around.

User

Very good atmosphere, food and drinks menu very varied too. I had fun each time I visited with friends and family.

Recently revamped beer garden very vibrant and colourful with much to entertain the kids. Good venue for special occasions as well.

User

I've loved this pub since i was a child and it doesn't disappoint. It looks fabulous and the garden is amazing

£8.05 for a large glass of Rose? It's cheaper in central london.

I wonder if there could be half/3rd of the garden nominated for smokers as it is a large garden.

I saw a lot of table-hopping away from smokers and no-one wants to make anyone feel awkward.

Has fish and chips which was nice.

Fabulous facility but worth the staff/management reading the reviews.

The food is nice. The atmosphere cozy. The prices are high for what it is. Service is strange. There seems to be a lot of staff on hand but they are difficult to identify and not very attentive to the needs of customers sat in some parts of the establishment. We had to order at the bar, then were served our main course(we didn’t have starters) by slamming the plates on the table without napkins or cutlery which arrived shortly after but again just dropped on the table. Once we finished the tasty but small portioned course we were left sitting with empty plates for over 20 minutes. No one approaches to clear or ask if we wanted desert. We had an open tab but considered leaving. Eventually we went to the bar ourselves to order another drink and dessert and had to ask for empty plates to be removed from our table to an apparent member of staff who just seemed to be walking back and forth. He was neither friendly nor apologetic despite our friendly request. Dessert was nice and tasty, again overpriced. And at no point were we asked if we were enjoying our meal or if all was ok.

Overall they get 3 stars for the taste of the food and the environment. But service and price should take away more than we did. Would we eat here again? At a push maybe.

Very dissapointed the prawn cocktail was all lettuce with about 6 small prawns ( 3 of us had that ) my cousin had gnocchi which was half a bowl not good as a main meal my steak although well cooked at about £23 was small and overpriced the 12 chips were cold total bill over £200

Admittedly the staff were very nice and attentive
