One of the best things about Spring is the new produce available. This week's special embraces the asparagus season, tossed in pappardelle and wild garlic for a light pasta dish.

Rebecca and the staff team are friendly and awesome and the atmosphere is wonderful. The kind of pub you'd want to bring your family AND mates to!!!

The beers are kept well they have great specials on Ales.

The food is incredible!!! One of the best steaks I've had in a long time.

There's loads more reasons but just get down here and see for yourself.

My first visit yesterday for a Sunday roast 😊 What a great place, lovely and friendly staff. They were very busy but didn't forget us at all. Great food to, I had the pork which was amazing, hubby doesn't enjoy a roast as much as me & my son does so he had a 1/2 size one, which they were perfectly fine with. Will definitely be returning .....thanks The Duke 👍🏼😊

User

Lovely place for families, they are really thoughtful, at last a restaurant/pub , that really welcomes, children and babies fully equipped, and the food is great too ! On arrival a jug of water and glasses with fresh lemon and mint was provided free while you decided what to eat and drink , a lovely outside area again with children in mind , highly recommend, I will be back with my grandchildren and children ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

User

Love this friendly pub, staff always have a smile, very clean. I will be back there, tat is for sure. Xx

User

I love this place. Sat outside in the beer garden with a lovely half. They have plenty of ales on tap, more than other local pubs. Weather was sunny and that always helps!

User

Had an amazing evening at The Duke, Wanstead celebrating my Dad’s 60th! Truly great staff, looked after us all. A truly memorable evening. Thank you so much

User

Great place, love the atmosphere, great food and most of all great staff and my son and daughter loves it

User

Got to the pub and the staff are very, very friendly and welcoming. The place has a really ‘warm’ kind of atmosphere with a mixed age crowd which is good I think.

The food was decent quality and value too. I may not live close but it’s worth a visit every now and then.

User

Cocktails are awesome ♡ such a great family vibe! We will be back!

User

Popped in yesterday as meeting my father for a spot of lunch. First time I have been in, and all the good I had heard, was true. Did seem to be a creche in the beer garden, few slightly noisy kids, but was not only not that bad, once inside, couldnt hear them, so wasnt an issue at all.

Lovely decour, grown up chic gastropub decour. Food was good, as were the drinks, and the staff were attentative, but not overbearing, just lovely and friendly. Definitely worth a visit with anyone.

User

Pleasant settings. Great for food and drinks with friends and family and also perfect for dates ❤️ Friendly staff and lovely decor. 5th star is missing because ladies toilets could do with a touch-up and more gluten free options would be marvellous

User

My first visit to this pub. It well known to my father telling me about it. Yesterday we held my father's 80th with family and friends. Service was good food delious. Must been hard to serve 17 meals for all ages. When leaving diescovering a sheltered area outside fab. Thank you to all your staff x

User

Good boozer. Well kept bitter. Barrel glasses appreciated! Get sparklers, and you're nearly a proper northern pub! ;)

User

Enjoyable evening with friends. My criticism ..... the ladies toilets smell awful and this is down to dirty nappies from the change unit provided. Happy to share the toilet with babies, but not their aroma whilst reapplying my lippy!

User

A great Sunday lunch, beef cooked to perfection! My only criticism... Not enough gravy, although the waitress went to get some more for me, due to how busy they were, I'd eaten half my meal by the time it arrived.

User

overall very good and I would definitely visit again just a couple of niggles though the waitress we asked aboutabout the ale selection didnt have a clue neither did the colleague she asked given it was new years day thatt alone would be forgiven but anorherr enquiry regards a suitable dessert wine was met with the same level of competance by the maitre d no less. However my biggest gripe was regards the food my roast pork dinner was dinner was excellent meat carrots cabbage spuds gravy all top notch but the real tester of the chefs skills the crackling was jawbreakingly inedible.

User

My first time for a Sunday roast great roast but is a shame they let dogs seat with you while eating your meal as I got allergies to dogs, friendly staff and very happy local pub.
