Wonderful, friendly pub with a great selection of food and drink! The pub interior is stunning and their playlist is always interesting and eclectic!

User

We went there for a roast and to watch the rugby. Great food (I had the nut roast and partner the beef) HUGE Yorkshire puddings. Great wine list and selection of beers (both bottled and on tap) chil friedly (high chairs and changing falicities (and the bonus was that the staff didn't frown at our arrival!) I don't live in the area, otherwise I'd definitely return, but if I'm in the beck of the woods again, I'll happily go back!

My son aged 25 who has autism and myself came in for a drink sat at the bar and was served by a lovely blonde lady very nice atmosphere and very busy x x

User

Live music and decent food. An old boozer that has kept some of its original charm. Fab service. A local favourite!

User

I was visiting from the states earlier this month, and this Pub became my home away from home! Marcos and Steven made sure I was well taken care of, and when I return, this pub is at the top of my list! Thanks for taking care of this Texas girl!!

User

Great traditional pub in the heart of west London, good atmosphere good selection of drinks, 1st time visit after a trip to the market , will go back again

User

Great food and lovely service.

User

Great atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff.

User

Gorgeous breakfast. They were a little late setting up as breakfast was from 9 but at 10 things were not ready. But the food was worth the wait and the staff were lovely

User

Good stop after a short trip to Notting Hill to see the house and book store from the movie. The staff was helpful and very friendly. Thank you from Jeffrey & Diane Cox, Tampa FL 🇺🇸

User

A Great well ran Pub with good staff & great selection of Beers

The pub is great. But I've been going to the London Jazz Festival there this week in the Music Room at the back and the noise from the adjoining bar is intolerable. If they want to have the Elgin as a music venue then they need to isolate the music room. It's crazy - it's like having two events on in the same room. They really should have decided this week if they wanted the festival there or to have parties - not both. Since the festival seems to be selling out most nights, and it attracts an international audience you would think it would make sense to focus on that. So many people near me were complaining about the noise. I complained to the bar manager and he did seem sympathetic but it didn't get any quieter. A missed opportunity in my opinion because the Music Room is just the right shape and ambience for jazz and it is better located than the Bulls Head at Barnes. If it was handled properly it could be properly developed as a music venue.

User

Stopped here for a drink after visiting Portobello Road. Nice atmosphere and traditional looking English pub. Only thing keeping it from 5 stars is they were out of all of their cask beers when we visited.

User

Splendid (iconic even) Edwardian public house on Ladbroke Grove , catering for wide range of people, fine real ales and a relaxed place for a drink.

User

Quirky pub with a lot less tourists than the hectic Portobello Road pubs a stone’s throw away. Nice feel and although I didn’t eat there, the meals looked nice.

User

Great pub...good ale. With a good British menu to match. And the atmosphere is a eclectic mix of locals, tourists and random drop ins.

User

Great pub with superb food. The staff is really nice helping you in the choice from the menu. During the peak hours you need to be patient if you stay at the table. For everybody that want to take one beer and something more..

User

Great food at reasonable prices, friendly staff and a great selection of drinks

The latest Elgin refurbishment gets my approval as they've got one of my favourite local history quotes on the wall in the back bar Market Room: 'Vagrants prowling in the speculative warnings around them' from the 1861 Building News. At the Hank Targowski tribute gig, presented by the Elgin compere of old Tony Allen, I went upstairs for the first time to watch the Anachron Hank slideshow in the banqueting room but missed Twin Peaks and the local rappers/poets JC001 and Mark Jackson drinking outside with Mexican Carlos. The stage, once trod upon by Joe Strummer's 101'ers, has gone but having the piano/performing area in the middle is better according to the aforementioned. There was a good turnout of Ladbroke Grove music scene dignitaries including George Butler of the Pink Fairies, the photographer Charlie Phillips and Lindsay from the KPH. Everybody got into GT Moore and the Blue Bop Band, featuring Shaky Vic from the old Station Tavern blues venue, but Earl Okin's jazz/bossa nova variety set stole the show. Later he sang some 40s numbers to us outside, making it a musical night on Ladbroke Grove to remember fondly, along with Alchemy Hank himself.
