Dylan the Dog has put together some suggestions for looking after your wellbeing during the school closure.

Please don’t worry about sticking to a rigid daily routine, unless that’s working for you. We think around 3 hours work in the morning is reasonable and could include a Daily Diary or work set on google classroom/Go4schools. You could do an hours exercise in the afternoon, some reading and enjoy some family activities. Some TV and Xbox is ok too! Each day will be different and most importantly you should look after yourselves and your family.

For any queries on Google Classroom please email the subject teacher directly using their school email address rather than via google classroom. Whilst it's appreciated, to avoid clogging up the system there is no need for students to reply for courtesy or with thanks. Take care.

Dear Parents and Carers
Following on from Minister for Education, Gavin Williamson’s, statement this evening, parents will be aware that school will close for the majority of students from the end of school on Friday until further notice. As parents are aware, we have been determined to ensure continuity of education and support for our students, parents and the community during this international crisis. We continue to be committed to being part of the ongoing solution, what...ever form that might take.
However, we will continue to open for those vulnerable students, i.e. those with a social worker, EHCP, or other highly vulnerable students. We will also be open to children of key workers currently identified as health care providers, emergency services and delivery drivers. This provision will also be in place over the Easter Holidays.
Please check your email for a link to a form to complete if you feel that your child falls within the vulnerable student group or if you fall into the category of key worker, or if this is not possible please telephone 01777 713 718.
As previously stated, we will continue to provide you with information and in particular the full details of this ongoing provision by the end of the week.
For students who are expecting to take exams in the summer the Minister for Education has said that exams will not take place in May / June but our strong recommendation is that students must continue to study the course, complete coursework and any other associated tasks until we have further details in order to ensure that this does not impact on their future prospects.
All students who will be working at home will have regular work set by their teachers and receive regular feedback which will be monitored by the senior leadership team.
We will continue to provide you with regular updates and thank you for your unwavering support at this difficult time.
Kind regards Mrs C Horrocks Principal
Please call school with any queries in the interim during usual hours rather than posting questions below.

We are extremely grateful for the positive messages of support being received from students and parents at this challenging time. We feel parents and members of the community might find it helpful to know that we are staying open to ensure continuity of education for our students, particularly those with exams in the summer season. We are following advice from the Government and Public Health England. We also want to ensure we are part of a community solution by allowing key ...workers, in the NHS and other professions, to continue working and not put further hardship on families who may otherwise lose income. However, we would stipulate that parents must not send any student to school if they have or are displaying a fever or new persistent cough. Please follow Government advice on self-isolating. Furthermore, we understand that some parents may choose not to send their child to school at this time and we will follow Government instruction on how to code these absences in order that students are not adversely affected.
As with other posts at this time, we will not be able to respond to social media comments. Instead please contact the school by telephone in order that you call and query can be appropriately directed.

Everyone has worked as a team which has enabled myself and the Academy staff to ensure you can access quality education despite these challenges. Thank you again and I will see you tomorrow. Stay safe and healthy. Mrs C. Horrocks, Principal

The Elizabethan Academy continues to remain open and is following Department for Education and Government guidance. Where students or staff present with a high temperature, or a new and persistent cough, we have isolated them and made arrangements for them to go home. We have also implemented additional measures to protect those staff and students identified as vulnerable. Detailed plans are in place should the school need to be closed. Our priority is to ensure that stud...ents who have examinations this summer, have all the necessary resources and support they need. We have also made arrangements for Free School Meal students, to ensure they will not suffer undue hardship going forward. The Principal and Governors are extremely proud of the way in which both students and staff have pulled together and worked incredibly hard, during this difficult period, in order to ensure continuity in students’ education and to maintain a calm and measured response to this challenging situation.
Thank you for your support. Should you have any questions please telephone the school and refrain from social media posts. Individual comments will not be responded to at this busy time.

Dear parents, Update 17th March 2020 Re: the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the UK and abroad.
