ELOCUTION CLASSES

I trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School not only in accent and dialect work but also in RP, elocution and voice production for stage. Since 2008, I have been teaching a lot of RP, elocution and clarity classes myself. I have been teaching a range of non native English Speakers who want to change /soften their accent to fit in more at their place of work, and also helped them to produce a more English /RP sound.

I have also been teaching students skills in how to communicate more effectively in terms of presentations etc in their businesses. Additionally I've been teaching native English speakers who want to change their accent to fit in, not only socially with the RP speakers around them, but also in business situations such as how to communicate effectively at meetings and in other work related situations.


My classes will help the you, with: learning RP /BBC English, the softening of your accent; speech clarity work and effective communication skills.

This is done through the teaching of the correct formation of all the vowel and consonant sounds of the English language or RP speech.

My classes will allow you do this with precision and ease. My classes also cover correct intonation and stress patterns to get a true English or RP sound. I offer one to one classes which are usually an hour in length.

After just one session you will immediately start making progress.

My methods include the teaching of phonetics, showing you the correct shaping of your mouth and lips and your placement of the tongue in relation to the teeth in order to produce the sounds of English /RP with complete clarity and understanding.

ACCENT /DIALECT COACHING

I mainly teach accents to actors for any accent work they require for auditions or projects in TV, Film, Theatre and Radio. Each person I teach goes away from my classes feeling more confident in their accent work and indeed achieving their goals of being proficient in a new accent.

I am a sensitive teacher with strong people and teaching skills, who gets results and helps his students to achieve their goals effectively. I am extremely passionate about accents and in indeed coaching them. I am able to help students to get somewhere with their voice work from their very first session. I have a large understanding of the difference between a range of accents and can currently do over 25 different accents convincingly myself. This in turn aids my complete understanding of how many accents differ from each other and my ability to teach students another one from their own.

Classes are on a one to one or group basis in person or via Skype.

Prices:
• £35 per 1 hour session
• Concessionary rate (students and those on a low income): £30 per one hour session
• Special offer: Book and pay for 5 sessions in advance and get a sixth free.
• I also travel to students in zones 1 and 2 for an added charge of £10 on top of the lesson

Cancellation Policy:

If lessons booked are cancelled with less than 48 hours notice, the lesson must nevertheless be paid
