In 3 weeks time Gavin is heading to the west of England for a workshop with @BostonTeaPartyBristol to find out how they managed to pull off one of the biggest logistical turnarounds for them and their customers. On June 1st this year they banned takeaway cups. No paper, no compostable, no single use at all. In all 21 of their stores. Whilst our vegan transition was a big move for us, people could still come in, get a coffee, sandwich or cake, and pay for jus those things, and... leave. Now, at BTP you need to buy a reusable cup, or no coffee to go. Pretty impressive. We’re keen as mustard to follow suit, so looking forward to meeting them and picking their brains. We’ll be sure to mention the V-word too and tell them how good it’s done us. Once we’re done with the single use cup, next on the list of seemingly impossible to change yet totally unsustainable things we need to sort out are imported fruit and veg, and tetra packs. Our Filet No Fish. We’ve got a healthy-ish junk food menu this week - millet and cassava for the fish bit, obligatory nori covered side and a tofu tartar. Add dill, gherkins, capers and a brioche style burger bun and you’ve got yourself a damn fine sandwich. A fish out of water is likely akin to a dog under water. The point with this menu is not to replicate the fish, but satisfy the “I want a fish sandwich” tickle we get. Well above average. Fresh, delicious, amazing food (and lovely coffee and teas) every single time. And lovely people to boot. This might actually be the perfect caf. One for the early lunchers though if you want more selection - they have been known to run out of food!!

Vegan coffee house, need I say more? In such a competitive market where margins are so small and risk is high. The balls to go out and do something like this is truly beautiful.

The kids and I went today for the first time. Amazing selection, lovely staff, quality food, great taste, friendly, welcoming atmosphere.

We had a sandwich, a cookie, an almond and chocolate croissant, banana��bread and juice - all delicious and moreish and 100% vegan� Perfect. The sunshine helped too☉
