We wished we lived closer! Lovely food, great beer (the stout was yummy), excellent live music (Sara Paco), friendly and helpful staff. Perfect.

Lovely quaint Victorian pub named after a political hero and run by a lovely family with great music nights.

Loved this pub many years ago and love it now. Great new owners that were most welcoming, my son absolutely loved his tika pie, he was so looking forward to it and I dreaded him not enjoying it, no fear of that. I had the cod fingers and chips, was expecting fish fingers but they were literally fish sticks covered in lovely batter, chips were gorgeous as was the scotch egg we shared. Thoroughly recommend. Can't wait to attend a music night.

Love this place, what a lil gem. Hidden enough to feel like a secret den but sooo easy to get to from the tube Stn. It was relaxed with a great vibe �. I had the best chips! And the soya slider hit the spot. The quality live music was a bonus! The barman even concocted a spontenous off-the-menu mocktail that was de-lish.



The key for me was that there were people from all walks of life hanging out under one roof.

You better tip the bartenders, cus they’re not earning SHIT— the owner is fucking CRAZY. I was just a patron, charging my phone, then after telling him that I worked at Spoons, he tried to rope me in to covering a 3hr shift the next day at minimum wage (I didn’t know he was the owner, I thought he was asking me to cover HIS shift), when I mentioned that it would cost me £6 just to get in to Borough, and that I earn £9/hr at Spoons, he freaked out, acted really fucking weird & asked me to leave 😂 (I still didn’t know that he owned the pub, so I was really fucking disorientated when I legit had to walk out the door 😂)



Ultimately, I did have a lovely chat with the v.cute barman about music, (before the commotion) & the vibe is great in a dive sort of way, but if you go here then please commiserate with the staff over what they’re paid, cus it’s obviously not very much, since the owner is the fucking weirdest cunt I’ve ever met.
