I have just come back from a one-night stay at The Grange Hotel St. Paul's. The room was super. Clean. Tidy. Comfortable. Everything you need in a hotel in London. It was also even a tad luxurious if I may be as bold as to say so. The front desk staff were so lovely. The turn-down bed service was a delightful added bonus. The continental breakfast was tasty with a good range of foods to eat. My reason for 4 stars is simply down to one point. I asked for a pot of coffee for my table at breakfast and the waiter seemed to not be able to help with this straight away. I saw him pottering with other tables and even commented to my friend that I wasn't sure why he hadn't gone to get us the coffee. Anyway, a few minutes later he filled our coffee cups up. I was returning to the table at the time and asked if we could keep the pot on the table. He said that it was empty (this was a very odd thing to say since the pots were huge compared to the cups). It was then I saw the dirt on the pots; runny egg down one and stains from pouring on the other. This waiter served us left over coffee from other table's left over breakfast!! He was not happy when I said that we would not be drinking it and that we would like a new pot. I am sure that this is not something a 5* restaurant would like to be happening. Other than this, I totally loved my time at this hotel. I shall return as it really was nice. I will, however be sure that the next coffee I'm served is from a new pot!!
