With a chilly breeze outside and cold brisk mornings, it feels like autumn is now upon us and summer has disappeared for another year.
But with photos like these, we don't mind all that much!

User

There's only 117 days until Christmas, but who's counting!
We just simply love looking back at festive photos from last year. The Grasshopper Inn looks incredible in it's full Christmas outfit and we can't wait to start decorating again this year.

User

It's on rainy days like these that we get excited at the thought of lighting up our fire over the winter months.

User

What better excuse than the bank holiday weekend, to book a night away!
Enjoy a day out exploring Kent’s finest landscapes and all that the surrounding area has to offer, before tucking into a delicious meal selected from our main menu within our restaurant. Then retreat back to the warmth of your hotel room, to relax and take in the historic atmosphere of our Tudor building.

We would like to complain ........ (to get a free room😉)...... but we can't ...... we met here 17 years ago, when there was an over 25's nightclub held every Friday ....... the Head Housekeeper took us round to reminisce and couldn't do enough for us....... a marvellous building and very relaxing bar area...... the room 'Parr' was small but attention to detail was second to none..... the bed was the comfiest and bathroom top notch......... brekky was delicious...... we can't wait to go back .... next time we are pushing the boat out and upgrading to King Henry Vlll suite........👑

User

We arrived here today with no booking. We got a table with our baby and had a delicious meal. The staff were lovely and very accommodating. The building is beautiful and I would go back there in a heartbeat. Thanks to all the staff

User

Thank you chef for the best ever eggs florentine!

User

Lovely friendly staff... who showed md around..fabulous homemade food.. a place full of history & charm.. so sad to be told fireplaces upto 12 Century room are being knocked down to build hotel rooms!!! The way of the World quite simply don’t know how it’s allowed to happen!! 🙏💖💕💖

User

Lovely food and good service. Very kind and helpful.

User

I had the Cottage Pie which was just so tasty. Tender chunks of steak, will definitely have again. Lovely warm welcome from the staff too which was nice.

User

Great carvery, very good quality meat and vegetables, well cooked and beautifully presented. The service is also very good. The Front of House welcome is exceptional, very friendly and humourous, makes you feel at home.

The ambiance in the conservatory is lovely, very light and airy but still retains a homely feel.

This is all contained in a stunning tudor building with a lot of history and many original and old features.

User

Full marks all areas ... the booking process, the service and friendly welcome, well presented and tasty food. Our walking group look forward to a return visit later in the year

We went here on 16 October for a meal for my wife's birthday.

As there were 7 of us, we had booked a table. On arrival, the staff could find no record of the reservation (which was not a complete surprise given my wife had to remind the chap who took the reservation that he should also take her name). Luckily, they were able to accommodate us, but it would have been very frustrating if they couldn't.

The food we had was very nice, and we weren't rushed. All those who had the carvery commented on the generous portions too.

I had the fish and chips. Unfortunately the chips were made from unpeeled potatoes. Chips are a simple idea and exceedingly popular in their traditional form. I thought humanity had decided on what chips should be like, and what was best. It's really rather annoying when people start mucking around with such a winning idea.

Apart from the chips, and the reservation cock-up, we had a lovely time.

User

We Just popped into this lovely looking place for a quick drink before our journey home I’m glad we did it has so much character to it

User

Great food, friendly staff and spacious hotel room, clean and comfy bed. Will definitely visit again.

User

Beautiful building, so many features. We stayed for 2 nights @ £110 per night. We started in the Parr room, small and not what I was expecting for the money but bathroom was huge and very modern. Tv was small and didn't work so we were moved to Cleeves which is a family room with another little room with bunk beds. This room was a much better size and bathroom again very good but there was a funny smell in there, opened windows and eventually found the extractor fan switch. There's a lounge area with leather sofas and a big tv it's a great place to sit.

Breakfast was superb, well cooked and well presented.

The Sunday carvery was good, lots of choice.

If my husband hadn't have already known about the carvery we wouldn't have know, not enough info given.

All staff were good, have a nice stay.

User

A very nice overnight stay here. Unbelievably quiet for a Friday evening/night we enjoyed an evening meal and breakfast the following morning with the place almost to ourselves. Food provided was of a good standard and our accommodation was very comfortable and well appointed. Three handpumps delivered Adnams beers and Goose Island IPA on a keg dispense too. Historically interesting interior makes it a good place to stop.

User

Went to the Grasshopper yesterday for mothers day lunch. Food was OK, not to the standard we were expecting for the price we paid. We were directed to a table laid out for the 6 of us but only had 5 chairs. My dad had to stand and wait for a chair. My daughter went to sit down and on the chair was a dessert spoon covered in chocolate, not good when she was wearing white jeans!!! Well, any clothing that's total neglect from the staff. Also on the floor under the table was 3 knives and 2 spoons. Cleaning our area was obviously not on the staffs mind. Wouldn't go again.

User

We arrived on Sunday for a carvery at 3pm and there was only one meat to choose from, the chef made excuses to the fact that they had been busy and apologised. I had what meat was on offer but my wife didn't have what she wanted and we were all charged full price which, for a limited choice roast dinner I found expensive.

Will go back again but at an earlier time as past experiences have been better.

User

The service at first was terrible staff where miserable. Carvery lunch was good especially the service from Angelo which started to turn the meal around until the fish and chips where delivered to the table for one of use it was stodgy and we could not eat it last meal we had there was much better.

User

I went to the grasshopper back in July on a Sunday for our anniversary, the traditional Sunday dinner my husband liked, but I'm afraid the options for diners that don't eat white/red meat are very few, both me & my daughter had to settle for fish & chips, which was cooked from frozen, horrible! I did say when asked if I was enjoying my meal and the waitress was a lovely young girl that apologised, could she do something? no option ! The Grasshopper used to be a wonderful place to go and eat.

Menu, will have to change before I go again

User

I had my wedding here a few weeks ago , if I was reviewing just the venue then I can't give it enough as I love the venue, unfortunately

The management are shocking! The contact and help in the lead up to the wedding was non existent. The manager is miserable and very rude. On top of

This arranged with my event lady to buy and decorate ourselves and things were thrown away after by their staff and they tried to blame guests which was a lie. For the cost that it is I expected good customer services

User

We went here for the sunday carvery last weekend. The food was terrible, the meat so tough you needed a chainsaw to cut it, and the rest of it was cold! When we complained the restaurant manager Roger was plain rude. He did not even apologise, and just blamed the tough meat on the suppliers! My father was also there, a chef with 50 years experience. He told Roger the rennet part of the joint should always be removed. Still no apology, and then he did his best to avoid us. The waitresses were fantastic to be fair, and from what we could tell this is a regular issue with Roger being rude to customers, and no doubt his staff!!! I would urgently advise all to avoid eating here at all costs, we wrote an email complaint last week but still have no response. We will also be posting up this review on trip advisor. Such a shame really, its a lovely pub just the restaurant is a total shambles!

This arranged with my event lady to buy and decorate ourselves and things were thrown away after by their staff and they tried to blame guests which was a lie. For the cost that it is I expected good customer services
