This lovely pub was just up the road from our hotel. It looks a bit average from the outside but GO INSIDE you will be pleasantly surprised by the great atmosphere. They do good food at a reasonable price, the staff were lovely and seemed like they really enjoyed working there! If I am ever back in Waterloo, I will be returning :-)

The Horse and Stable is a fantastic local pub in a great location in SE1. The staff are fabulous and friendly and the always make you feel welcome. There is always something going on from live bands, to comedy nights etc. and a great place to have a private party. You can hire out the upstairs room or the whole of the pub for any celebration as the staff and management are very accommodating. The also offer a promo of selected beers and lagers for £3.00 on Monday and Friday, so a great place to start and end the week. The kitchen has recently been refurbished and a new menu is available for all tastes. I highly recommend the H&S for all occasions.

Stopped off for food. Excellent homemade burgers & chicken breast burger was also excellent. Bangers & mash where also very good. Great atmosphere and a very nice pint of Guinness too!

Just had a day at Imperial War Museum, then decided to get something to eat.... what a find 30 second walk from Lambeth North tube station, staff are very friendly and the food was absolutely amazing, the chips were some of the best I have had in a long time.

I've stayed at the Horse and Stables hostel before, but tonight I just came in for a good Sunday roast dinner. They serve roasts until 9, which is later than most places in the area. The food is great and the staff are lovely. We especially enjoyed the music tonight- the bartender with the long hair and goatee was pumping out classic rock jams! Wish we caught his name to give him more credit. Keep up the great work!

Had lunch with my family today very much enjoyed it all, the food was great the staff were very helpful and friendly, would recommend it if you are in the area.

A bit like a Tardis. Not quite what one expected from outside. Excellent customer service. Real ale was very good. Other half said wine was also very good. Food looked great and from looking at menu reasonably priced. Upstairs function room is a fantastic space. Being part of BBC Radio 4 The Philosophers Arms was entertaining.

Very close to the tube station. Great location ! Great dormitories and nice little breakfast included. Showers are a little tight, but it was OK. Pub is really nice to end your day with a beer before going to sleep. I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel !

Think hostel accommodation in mixed gender rooms and you're pretty much there. I stayed for one night as there was no train to get me into London early enough for the Congress I was attending over the weekend. Easy booking in with friendly and informative staff. Room and bed basic as are shower and toilet but both clean. Breakfast good and staff amenable for the early shift. As a 60 year old man who is used to hotels, this was a step back in time and out of my now comfort zone. Good to experience the young people I shared the dorm with as considerate. Easy to see them from afar and judge inappropriately. Would recommend.

Stayed here for a quick getaway with my teenage daughter - great room, ok breakfast, superb location and staff!

Only problem was the noise from trafik during the Night.

I was expecting hardly anything with the food, being a vegetarian, but I was amazed to say the least when my order arrived!



The goats cheese burger was absolutely spot on with the portobello mushroom cooked to perfection and it looked bloody good!



Well presented food, cool indoors and plenty of veg options!



Just a note from my friend: Don’t forget the shamrock on the Guinness next time!

Hostel is decent. Free towles is a big plus. Beds comfey and clean. Staff absolutkly halarious good lot of folks.Pints in the bar were delicious and good lord the steak and ale pie was fucking UNREAL!



Only reason not 5 stars is only one shower and I had a wee visitor in the night. Named him Micky...other wise great location, close to the tube! Walking distance tothe sights....I'd recomend it to my friends.

Great location, beautiful pub, friendly staff, nice breakfast, lovely food! Downside: The toilet and showers are awfullly tiny so I wouln't recommend it for a longer stay.

Great little pub in the heart of London. Stones throw away from all the tourist attractions. Stayed over night. The staff where really lovely, friendly and very helpful. Couldn't do more for you. Room was clean and comfy. Great value for money. Bathrooms werea tad on the small side. Not much room to get ready in. Overall had a really enjoyable stay, met some great locals. Would recommend a visit.

We were told they would be showing the Europa Final on TV and nearly at the last minute we discovered they weren't. We had even reserved a table. Luckily for us, we found a pub nearby that did and with an empty table and served excellent Thai food....

Disappointed but good beers although.

Two years ago I got in love with this place, the food was awesome and it had the best Mojito in London.



But all that's gone. We went past Thursday, Sept 15th, and most of the menu was spicy or had pepper. Due to my hernia, I look for the only food that has no spicy/pepper on the menu: BBQ ribs... They brought to me a few ribs battered entirely on pepper...



It's a pity, I remember from the first time the delicious pulled pork and now, all is pepper and jalapeños...
