So yesterday, this happened!! 🎉 ⁣ ⁣ 2,000 @etsy sales! I hit 1,000 back at the end of April, I was so happy! I can’t believe in just over 7 months I have done another thousand sales! ⁣ ⁣ I’m so grateful for every order, every review, it all means the world so thank you to the moon and back for shopping small, and all the love for what I do. It’s a bit overwhelming at the moment orders wise, so I’m head down getting on, so you get all your lovely orders before Christmas. Sorry for being so quiet!

I’m trying my best, I have a team of people helping me, my lead time is at 5 working days. This time last year it was over 2 weeks and I was almost closed to UK orders.

Wow what a weekend.... ⁣ It’s been epic. Over a hundred orders have come in over the weekend, and I’ve come on to share some pictures from the @peterleymanorfarm Christmas market, to find that THIS is the one photo I took all weekend! ⁣ ⁣ I’m so upset! I can’t believe I didn’t take any pictures of my stall, my amazing assistant(s) and the moment that Ava told me that when she grows up she wants “to join the family business” 💓 ⁣ ⁣... I was lusting over this amazing candle holder by @victoryrockdesign all weekend! I didn’t buy it as our new dining table hasn’t arrived yet 😬 and I’m not sure it would go. It got snapped up along with another beautiful piece by another couple, but I did invest in a wall hung bottle opener complete with top catcher 🍻

Us small businesses struggle with Black Friday. The pressure to discount is so incredibly high, and unlike the big boys we mostly undervalue our products, don’t increase prices in the run up, we can’t use our size to get better bulk discounts from suppliers and we can’t afford to employ lots of people on minimum wage in order to fulfil them.
We CAN’T compete.
I won’t jeopardise the quality and the love that goes into all of my orders. I won’t cut corners on materials in ord...er to save a buck and pass that discount on.

This week has turned out o be crazy busy... I started @justacard indie week on Monday, and then my feet didn’t touch the ground! I’ve missed 2 days now. I’m posting now before another rollercoaster day starts. Plus it means another 5⁣ minutes in bed 💪🏻 🏅 ⁣ ⁣ I made this lovely diary yesterday, and it’s so relevant right now! Every second is crammed with something to do; the Mum Admin (or “madmin” as I should probably refer to it) is at mental high levels, parties here, activi...ties there, trips, school pictures, homework... there just is not enough time! ⁣ ⁣ Is everyone snowed under with madmin at the moment or is it just me?!⁣ ⁣ P.s I’m not complaining about work levels... Thank you for keeping me so busy! 😘 💗

Hello Monday! Today marks the start of @justacard indie week, and to celebrate, a load of independent artists, designers, makers, shops and small businesses are participating in an instagram challenge to raise awareness of the cause. ⁣ ⁣ Today, it’s all about ME! ⁣ ⁣ So, here I am... and here’s 10 facts about me:⁣... 1. I started @thehouseofairey in 2015 after being made redundant from my IT marketing job when I was pregnant. I wanted to always be there for them; school runs, play dates etc, but knew getting another job in the same field wouldn’t give me that as an option. So I started making, and I loved every second!⁣ 2. I am 30+5, I have 2 minis, Ava and Isabella and an amazingly supportive husband who I could not do this without! At busy points everyone pitches in! ⁣ 3. I live in beautiful leafy Buckinghamshire, and I’m so lucky my home studio looks out into woodland.⁣ 4. I love gin. I’m on a journey, trying new gins, new pairings, new garnishes⁣ 5. My little mini, Isabella pretty much broke me with a year of no more than 90 minutes sleep at a time, but she does sleep now... thank god⁣ 6. I’m co-chair of the school PTA, I volunteer in the school library, I play netball one evening a week, and spend most of my week juggling the minis activities with work and home life. It’s hectic! ⁣ 7. I love making, whether it be glasses and mugs or dinner, cakes and anything knitted, I’ve always been a maker. My mum is the same, and my evil-step-witch-in-law (we’ll come back to her later). My Nan was a fab hand with some knitting needles too. It’s definitely in the blood.⁣ 8. I hate socks. Particularly plain socks, and especially black socks. Fortunately I only put them on for the school run, then those bad boys come straight off as soon as I get home. I love the summer, and flip flops ⁣ 9. I have a shoe obsession, it drives my husband crazy⁣ 10. I don’t really like talking about myself!! ⁣

Happy Sunday guys!⁣ We’re having a lovely chilled one, movies on, lamb slow roasting in the oven (smells out of this 🌎) and I’m taking a bit of time to do some forward planning. ⁣ ⁣ Christmas is only (eek!) just over FIVE weeks away, sorry to panic you guys.... so I thought I would share my current last order deadlines with you all. ⁣... As always these are subject to change, last year due to volume of orders I actually had no choice but to Close early, and I pulled my last orders forward by over a week! Consequently I had a lot of messages from people who were disappointed they had missed the cut off, but I knew I was never going o be able to fulfil them with the amount that came in each day. ⁣ ⁣ I am just little old me in my studio, and I’m a bit of a perfectionist so I won’t be rushed and sending out orders I’m not 100% happy with. ⁣ ⁣ So if there is something you want to order, get it done and tick it off your list! ⁣

Opened a new bottle of gin this evening, and it’s @sainsburys Blackfriars London Dry, I’ve paired it with @fevertreemixers aromatic tonic, and it’s pretty good! Definitely worth a purchase, at £16 for 70cl it’s a tasty bargain 😋

Good morning! ☀️ 🍁 ⁣ ⁣ Happy Saturday folks. I hope you’ve had a good week? I’m lazing in bed with a cup of coffee before the minis awake and I have to attempt to get the most disgusting medicine down Isabella. ⁣ ⁣ We have to do it 4 times a day for a week, it’s absolute torture. At least half an hour of persuasion, irritation, a little bit (ok maybe a lot 😳) of shouting, and then when she finally takes it, followed by a couple of sweets... she heaves and almost throws it up.... ⁣ ⁣ Yet she takes it fine at school, and at the play date yesterday, so I might send her to the neighbours and see if they have any more joy than me! ⁣ ⁣ Does anyone have any other tips for giving medicine other than a sweetie chaser? I don’t really want to put it in anything or add anything to it just in case, it’s meant to be taken on an empty stomach an hour before food. I don’t blame her as I did get it all over my hand, I licked it, it tastes of earwax. I think that’s the only way to describe it. ⁣ ⁣ Anyway I’m enjoying the last few minutes of peace and quiet after a ridiculously hectic week. ⁣ ⁣ Between the business and family and the pta events we’ve had this week, add in a family tradition Christmas shopping day and I feel like my feet have walked a million miles this week! ⁣ ⁣ This weekend is all about the chill...

Rachel made our table plan and table stationary,and I could not have wished for anything better,having had to change our plans and it being very stressful,I doubted whether I'd get anything resembling my vision,and had chosen constellation's as a theme,not the easiest!

From the beginning Rachel was calm,professional and the end results were magical,we've even framed the table plan as a memento!

I would not hesitate to recommend house of airey and will definitely be using again.
