User

We was in Harrogate for the weekend and we had booked our table several months before for a Saturday evening 2nd June 2018.

The restaurant was full but we were efficiently served, the waiter was very friendly, the food was amazing and did not have to wait too long for it too be served, we never felt rushed and enjoyed our meal so much, we are visiting Harrogate again end of October so will be certainly dining again. Thank you.

User

We have tried to dine here before without success so this time we manage a table for our lunch and we were not disappointed.

My wife Janet and I were very pleased with “The Ivy”experience from the great level of customer service through to the lovely food we thoroughly enjoyed.

Well done team Ivy Harrogate.

We will be back.

We dropped by on the off chance with no reservation and the young lady said we could wait for a table or sit at the bar which we quite like doin anyway as it’s what we do when we go to America. Service was fantastic and made you feel very welcome. 2 course lunchtime menu special with 2 drinks for £50. Really impressed and would definitely recommend it.Will definitely go back but will book a table next time 👍👍👍

We come here regularly, sometimes to eat, sometimes just to have a drink at the bar on a weekend afternoon. This time, while my youngest son and I watched the England game in BanYan, my wife took our daughter for lunch in the sun. Once again, the food, while not fine dining, which it is never claimed to be, was perfectly presented and very enjoyable.

What The Ivy does very well, is offer good, brassiere-style food, a lovely ambience with very attentive service. All in all, a nice place to be, and our youngest daughter is now a firm fan.

User

We ate a delicious meal, in lovely surroundings. We cannot fault the service, there were no delays with the drinks ordered or the starters & main course, everything came at the perfect time. The staff were very attentive and quick to resolve our query. Would certainly return.

User

Sat in here now at this moment. All i can say is amazing service great larger and the prices are amazing.

Well done for an amazing experience so far.!!!

I would fully recommend this place. I am from Wakefield myself and I would gladly make this trip once a week

Mynhusband and are staying in Harrogate for a few days and so last night we decided to give The Ivy ago! We didn't want starters and I had the fish and chips which were delicious and my husband had the crab linguini which he said was really good! He being a chef for fourty years is not hard to please! For dessert I had the Brulle which was yummy and he had baked lemon Alaska also delicious! From the moment we entered the door the staff were professional friendly and attentive! We did not have to wait long for both courses but equally we were not rushed! In do not like service charge being added but didn't mind in this case! We had a lovely time!

Looking for something new, we decided to go downmarket by our usual standard. This is not a superiority thing, just a matter of fact, we like fine dining. On a glorious Bank Holiday Sunday, it’s almost a shame to book a restaurant when we could be picnicking in the park, but happily our table is in a booth in the airy central area with a skylight and sunlight shining through; there are also tables in the garden, but there are no tablecloths and the chairs don’t look comfy so we decide not to ask to be moved.

It’s a brunch menu, served only on Saturday and Sunday, but we’re pleasantly surprised by the breadth of offerings, from light bites through many starters, an untitled section that actually could be the brunchy all day breakfast thingymebob, and onto mains as varied as hamburger and lobster. We go for prawn cocktail, pâté and steak tartare, the latter not traditional enough for my taste but overall they are very good.

Our mains are roast salmon, shepard’s pie and fish cake. All three are excellent, the added side of peas are much better than the disappointing fries, which we mentioned and these were immediately removed from our bill. Puddings of panna cotta and apple tart were both delightful and served with aplomb.

We had started with the house champagne which is available by the glass at barely any premium over the bottle, and then moved on to a South African merlot, moderately priced at £48. The wine list is resonably extensive, and offers a happy dilemma - so many to choose! I can’t imagine anyone failing to find something they like at a price that’s acceptable ... one of the most agreeable lists I’ve seen recently.

Finally, the service we received was a suitable combination of efficiency, friendly yet professional and always timely. There was no reason to challenge the 12.5% automatically added for our server, bringing the cost to just under ÂŁ70 per head.

All in all a great place for a lovely lunch.

I’ve been lucky enough to go to the Ivy in London so I was keen to see how The Ivy ‘up North’ was and translated into ‘Yorkshire’! I was not disappointed, in fact I was delighted. It was really fantastic, great service, great looking restaurant blending the old and new perfectly, and most importantly delicious well presented food that really wasn’t a rip off! Mix in with this recipe, a wonderful atmosphere, and my husband and I enjoyed a fabulous lunch. We will definitely go back for dinner as the vibe must be super at night. And get this, The Ivy was really good value for money. Do yourself a favour bypass Betty’s cafe and the huge queue’s, and go to The Ivy in Harrogate, you’re in for a good old Yorkshire treat!!!

I have been a lover of The Ivy London for many years and have to admit was a little uncertain about the concept of opening what I thought would be franchised facilities nationwide, I was wrong, The Ivy Harrogate lives up to every expectation.

Food, ambiance, etc.etc. but also the staff. first class and thank you.

Had a lovely meal on Friday evening. I expected it to be a little pretentious having never dined at The Ivy previously, but not at all. Although I found the menu to be slightly limited, the food we chose was delicious. We had the spiced green olives (best I've ever tasted) and the truffle arancini as tasters followed by the atlantic sea scallops as starters. For mains I chose the prawn and monkfish curry and my husband had the fishcake. Desserts were creme brulee and the cheese board. Wish I'd chosen the brulee as I was slightly outfaced by the amount of cheese for one person. My hubby thought the prosecco was overpriced at ÂŁ38 so we settled for a slightly cheaper bottle of rosĂŠ. We found the service to be second to none with a perfect amount of time between courses, attentive without being obtrusive and friendly without being pretentious. Slightly more than we would normally pay for a meal out and quite a hefty service charge, but one that we were more than willing to pay for such a lovely experience. We'll definitely be back!

User

Great concept....while mainstream is very dull...the Ivy cafe bucks the trend! So good in every way...great decor, great food, great service...great value! Can’t fault it! Do find 12.5% added to the bill, cheeky...I only tip if I get great service, they did deliver! However i always like to give cash to the waiting staff as you never know if the business passes the tip on! Ask for the 12.5% to be taken off and give the staff a cash tip! That’s my tip!

User

2nd visit to "The Ivy". ....fabulous service, gorgeous food and then sat at the bar for drinks. Ordered drinks not on the menu which was no problem at all ......5* experience from start to finish. ...loved it (again!)!!!!

User

We had a reservation for Monday 16th April and everything was absolutely perfect, the meals, the service, everything except for one minor detail: on the bottom of the dessert menu it mentioned that there would be a 12.5% ‘optional’ discretionary fee added to the bill; it ended up being ‘mandatory’. If the restaurant was up front from the beginning about a mandatory discretionary fee, it would be a 5 Star. Being caught by surprise at the end doesn’t sit very well with the paying customer

User

We went on Saturday evening at 8.30. It was fine. Considering what it is billed as though it was rather disappointing. The menu options were fine but only two specials. One starter was excellent - the tuna. Every other course was fine but nothing special. The food was cold. Every meal was brought out separately (only 2 of us dining), sometimes there were 5 minutes between us receiving our food. The service was adequate but I really think the staff could learn a trick or two from Swinton Park. It was uncomfortably cold in the restaurant on a reasonably warm evening (thank goodness we were indoors), and the lighting too bright for a romantic evening - though it was dimmed later. If you're not going to light the candles don't have them on the table. Overall I can't think of anything better to say than it was ok, certainly not fine dining and certainly not what I had hoped for. I won't be going back.

My sister booked for my birthday lunch. A very special.birthday.

We were given a nice table outside, but, had to move because of the sun.

The waiting staff are shoddy in comparison with other high end restaurants. The uniforms are awful & the service not much better!

On previous visits, we've had to ask for things more than once & today was no exception.

We asked for ice to be brought with the water...none came until we asked a second time.

When we moved tables , the table mats weren't replaced & some the items were left .

The cheek to put a ÂŁ12 service charge on the bill beggars belief. Needless to say , we didn't pay it.

The food is good & we enjoyed it, but , I can get good food elsewhere. I won't be a returning customer.

No special "happy birthday" treat either.....

User

I had my first experience of The Ivy in Harrogate yesterday and have to say I was very disappointed. The food is average and the service leaves a lot to be desired, extremely slow with errors in items ordered. It’s not somewhere I’ll be rushing back to in a hurry.

User

Came here for dinner on Sunday evening. Restaurant was quiet but service was slow, had a drink at the bar before we were shown to our table. While deciding food the waitress came over to take another drink order, took mine but then walked off before my friend could order his so we had to call her over again. We both ordered steak and sides, one medium rare the other medium. When they were brought over one was well done and the other medium so I sent my well done one back. The re-done steak came but was once again cooked medium not medium rare but after having to wait 10minutes and the sides and sauces going cold I left it. With the manager only offering another portion of chips to say sorry. Don’t think I’ll be returning with the amount we payed you think the chefs would know how to prepare and not over cook a steak. It was not worth it.
