The Jack The Ripper Experience Description

Welcome to The Official 'Russell Edwards' Jack the Ripper Experience.

The Jack the Ripper Experience with Russell Edwards, author of Naming Jack the Ripper. Jack the Ripper tours in Whitechapel. Book the official tour today.

Using DNA evidence, Russell Edwards is able to conclusively name Jack the Ripper as Polish born Aaron Kosminski. The biggest murder mystery of all time has now been solved, thanks to DNA on a Victorian shawl and forensic science.

In 2007, businessman Russell Edwards bought a Victorian shawl at an auction. The shawl was large – over 7 feet long, made of silk, obviously very old, and damaged, with pieces missing. The shawl had been taken by a policeman from the murder scene of Jack the Ripper’s fourth victim, Catherine Eddowes, on 30 September 1888. Since then, aside from a few years in Scotland Yard’s Black Museum, it had been safely stored away by the direct descendants of that policeman.

In his book, Naming Jack the Ripper, Russell Edwards details the years of dedicated historical and scientific research that have gone into proving without doubt that Aaron Kosminski was Jack the Ripper.

130 years since the world came to know of the atrocities in Whitechapel. The name: ‘Jack the Ripper’ echoed through the 1888 streets of East End London. Today the story is as gripping as ever. DNA finally named the man behind the legend: Aaron Kosminski. It took me 15 years of painstaking research and 4 years in the forensic labs to concur with Scotland Yard’s prime suspect to close this murder mystery...

really enjoyed the tour, bit of history of the area and some great information on the buildings (I love old buildings) plenty of recommendations on where to find the best curries too. Russell is passionate about Jack and about the area and it shows. My only complaint? The tour wasn't long enough, I could of walked round there all night. Would of loved to get inside one of those beautiful Georgian houses.

User

What an experience, visiting the historic locations around Whitechapel where the horrific events took place. Our guilds Angie did a great job maintaining tension all the time.

User

Went on a tour with Russell last night and it was truly amazing. Such an exciting, personal and enthusiastic experience. I will be highly recommending it to many. This man is the best!

User

We had a personal tour by Russell on Tuesday night. We felt very honoured to say the least. It was the most amazing tour weve had and very very informative. The insight Russell gave was truly amazing. I would definitely recommend going to meet Russell and doing the tour. Thank you Russell for an excellent evening. Kind regards Jackie and Nigel

User

The Jack the ripper tour was awesome!! Jamie was very knowledgeable and had an answer for whatever question the group had. Would defineatly recommend doing it for friends.

User

The Jack The Ripper Experience was the most informative Jack The Ripper tour I have been on. The real back story and the fascinating proof of who Jack The Ripper really was given by Russell Edwards is exceptional. I cannot recommend this tour enough!

User

Thank you Russell Edwards for an fantastic and thought provoking night with your amazing knowledge also your own personal story. As the Jack the Ripper tour and he personal investigation to find the truth was an intriguing story in its own right.

Myself, My wife plus my kids also my in laws loved the whole experience and tour.

Thank you again!!!!!

User

Russell is a fantastic guide ! Absolutely gripped by the whole thing and if it wasn't for the cold and the rain I could've asked more and more questions and talked to him for hours! Have since ordered his book to read more.

User

OMG. Firstly what can I say Russell is a really genuine guy. The story starts off slow but is part of the interest and keeps you gripped to the very end of the tour. You just couldn't make it up and it's so real and surreal as you are literally standing next to the place where the victims were killed. I'm still so in awe of the whole story on JTR it is such a fantastic tour including the Indian meal thrown in. Words cannot describe it. Went with my husband and all we have talked about after was the evening. It was amazing. Russell is fantastic and I would totally and utterly recommend it. Can't wait for our relatives to come down from Scotland as they want to go too.I would give it 10/10 and if I could it would 10000/10. Truly truly brilliant. Thank you Russell and Rachel for making this tour so memorable xxxxxx we even got to see where Kiera Knightley lived right opposite where one of the victims dossed/lived. Phenomenal.

User

Had a great time. There's no one on the planet that knows more about this case. If you're going to take a Jack the Ripper tour, do it with Russell.

User

A great night tonight. A very informative tour given by Russell and his assistant. We loved the old London streets and narrow passage ways, and you really got a feel for what it would have been like back in the "old" days. Excellent, thank you.

User

*update - thanks for Russell for the super quick and efficient help he gave us regarding our refund for the tours. Cannot fault his help, going above and beyond. Thanks!

9th Nov 2017. Guide no show, waited from 6.32pm-8.02pm, no answer when calling provided numbers. No cancellation email. Very disappointed. Please investigate urgently. Private Messenger message also sent to you.

14th Nov 2017. Contacted directly by Russ later that evening (9th Nov). He apologised and offered place on 11th Nov tour (later informed by Russ that the ticket agency had failed to contact me when they cancelled my original date). Returned and had a superb tour!

I thought I knew a fair bit about The Ripper Murders but all the way round Russ made it feel like a completely new story. Great insights, with clever little unrelated snippets as we passed unseen landmarks etc.

I'd highly recommend this tour, but for added effect go during British Winter Time as the darker evenings really enhance the experience.

***update***

After directly contacting Russell himself, we had our tour rearranged, annoyingly, that was also cancelled but after a bit of a palava, we finally got booked into the tour on 14/11/2017 and we were not left disappointed.

We were lucky enough to have the tour taken by Russell himself and his enthusiasm and knowledge was second to none.

Just when you think you know about Jack the Ripper, you realise that you don't.

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and couldn't recommend it enough - we even left buying his book!

Thanks again :)

------

We had our tour booked in on Saturday the 29th.

After waiting around in the pouring rain for 40 minutes (along with the other members waiting for the tour) for our tour guide who failed to turn up, we gave up.

Many people, including ourselves tried to call the number provided but all calls went straight to voicemail.

Eventually, we left a message, informing you that we were leaving, also asking for a refund but you didn't respond.

I have also emailed you regarding this matter and yet again, still no reply.

If there was any chance of this tour being cancelled, all those booked on should have been informed.

Emails were even sent the night before reminding us of the event!

Considering that we don't live in London and travelled down specifically for this non existent tour, it just added to the fact that the whole thing was a waste of time and money.

User

We, and 15 other people, waited in the rain for an hour and he didn't show up. We called the phone nr multiple times and nobody answered. And after that hour, somebody from another company happen to offer the same tour, but we had to pay again of course. What a scam! We are in London only for 3 nights, and this was a complete waste of time.

User

We were in london for a few days i had booked tickets for the tour on tuesday night for my partners birthday we got an email on the day to say it had cancelled i have left messages for to ring and noone has bothered to get back to me its joke we are going home tomorrow so very dissapointed

We booked the tour Thursday 14th September no one turned up!

Having played for tickets, train from Norfolk and a hotel not impressed at all.

Don't book with this company they don't answer calls or emails!!!

User

User

I purchased 4 tickets for this evenings tour but no guide turned up, don't know about Jack The Ripper, it should be called the Rip Off Tour! My husband kept telephoning the mobile number but no one answered. I will be trying to get a refund!

I purchased 4 tickets for this evenings tour but no guide turned up, don't know about Jack The Ripper, it should be called the Rip Off Tour! My husband kept telephoning the mobile number but no one answered. I will be trying to get a refund!
