About The London Dungeon

Live and breathe London's darkest history with 19 shows and 2 thrilling rides! #IfYouDare 🐀☠️

The London Dungeon Description

Situated in County Hall next to the Coca-Cola London Eye, the London Dungeon is a 110 minute journey through London's darkest history.

The London Dungeon brings 1000 years of authentic London history to life with a unique mix of talented live actors, stunning special effects, edge of your seat surprises and two exciting thrill rides.

Guests embark on a journey through a dramatic London landscape going back ten centuries. They are guided through ghastly plague-ridden streets, witness Guy Fawkes’ dramatic plot to blow up Parliament, travel back to Jack the Ripper’s bleak Whitechapel and walk beneath London’s foreboding medieval gates.

Expect to meet Sweeney Todd, the infamous Barber, and his evil sidekick, Mrs Lovett alongside Jack the Ripper with one of his unfortunate victims Mary Jane Kelly. They will be joined by murderous monarch Henry VIII ‘virtually’ played by boisterous British acting giant, Brian Blessed, gunpowder plotter Guy Fawkes and a supporting cast of torturers, plague victims and dark jesters. Guests can also expect close encounters with non-human ‘talent’ including giant cockroaches and the Dungeon’s resident family of scurrying rats!

As well as 19 shows, and innumerable unexpected surprises, the attraction will boast two state-of-the art thrill rides with high-tech surprises guaranteed to get adrenaline pumping. A fast flowing boat ride sees guests condemned by Henry VIII – played virtually by boisterous British acting legend Brian Blessed - to a turbulent journey along the dank River Thames towards execution. Whilst on a deadly dark drop ride they will literally be sentenced to ‘take the drop’ as they plunge three stories in the pitch dark. A chilling, screams-guaranteed, Whitechapel labyrinth will baffle guests as they try to escape ‘Jack’ and find their way out of the East End and a strange but fun journey through Balzelgette’s Victorian Sewer system will leave guests in a disorientated spin.

At the end of your tour, join us in the Dungeon Tavern, a Victorian pub experience. Your first drink is on us!

Wow what a wonderful experience! Went today with my 15 year old son hoping to spend some Quality time with him! Wow it was amazing! I screamed and he laughed! We laughed together made some friends who where just as engrossed and frightened as us! Fabulous acting! I highly recommend you visit! We have spent all night discussing Jack the Ripper Sweeney Tod! The brave Mr Guy Fawkes!!!! All I can say is thank you for such an amazing experience! My 15 year old and I have truly bonded!

User

We visited today with our 7 year old son as he is interested in the Great Fire of London. We were a bit apprehensive of what to expect and whether he would be too scared but he absolutely loved it! The actors were all brilliant and so funny! Thank you for a great day!

User

We totally loved it. I found the authopsy part unfitted and useless, but the rest was great. The drop dead ride scared a bit my 10 years old kid (we didn't pay enough attention to this last part on the information site regarding the ride), but we really had a great time there. Also it's educational for those interested to find more about London's dark stories. The role play is a brilliant idea and the judge was soooo funny.

User

We loved our visit on Wednesday, the actors were brilliant, and we were lucky to have really fun people in the group we went round with. All the staff were friendly and they were great with my son (aged 9)

He picked our trip and I wasn't sure it was my thing, but we both loved every bit of it.

We'll be coming back soon!

User

Visited the London Dungeon today with my daughter and grandson Caleb. Unfortunately we only got half way round when Caleb took ill and collapsed. The half we experienced was great fun and we"ll be back. Many thanks to the staff and in particular the first aider we believe was called Sally who was amazing in looking after Caleb. Many thanks everyone

User

The Actors/actresses were fantastic and brought the whole experience to life perfectly and would recommend to anyone. Only down side was the cues to get in and the tour sizes could have been smaller as took away from the atmosphere slightly and also took a long time to get everyone in each room.

User

My boyfriend and myself visited the Dungeons yesterday and utterly loved the experience. Amazing performances from all the actors and an utterly thrilling immersive experience, especially from Sweeney Todd and Jack The Ripper (both of which I found utterly terrifying but really fun). We also enjoyed a drink in the tavern afterwards where the staff where extremely welcoming and the man playing the Landlord was extremely good at his job helping myself and my boyfriend feel very involved and even getting me involved with singing (which I don't often do). We also found the historical courtroom absolutely hilarious and the particular actor we had as the judge was amazing!!! (Even if he did find me guilty for witchcraft!!) It was all in all an amazing day and I can't wait to pay another visit in the future!!!

User

London Dungeons LATES never fails to deliver! Took my team from work along and everyone fully enjoyed themselves. Constantly developing different narratives and themes so that the experience is ever-evolving. Would highly recommend it for a work social!

User

It was so good I had to leave! Obviously I knew it would be scary but it was too much for me. The staff were very nice in getting me out of there!! I got to wait in the tavern for the rest of my party to arrive and had a great time and they thoroughly enjoyed it!!

User

I had no idea what to expect.

But I wasn't disappointed at all.

The staff were amazing really involved with there characters. Made it all the more of an experience.

Wasn't made to wait a round to long.

My favourite was miss tuffet.

We used the kellogs voucher so only paid for one person.

User

Brilliant place staff were so kind to me as a wheelchair user helped all though my visit as a wheelchair user don't be put of by the stairs at the entrance they are so took me in a side entrance there are also lifts in the building loved the actors as well brilliant acting they were also good to me and made sure I could see everything can be wait to go back there

User

Absolutely fantastic, it was so well set out from beginning to end. We all had a blast! Crazy remembering a few things from topics at school, and being told so many facts in such detail, it brought it all to life!

User

I got free tickets via the Sun & booked a time slot.

We got through fast & the staff that were acting were so accommodating to us as I was in a wheelchair. They helped make it a brilliant day.

The issues I have & why only 4 stars is because the photo from the beginning, I was cut out of which was extremely disappointing & I was really gutted & I was told by a member of staff that if I couldn’t climb 2 flights of stairs unaided then I couldn’t go on the ride at the end yet my Son & his gf went on it & stairs had nothing to do with it. I went on the 1st ride & I could have gone on 2nd. I was totally mislead about my being able to go on it

I did request to speak to the Manager after but I was waiting & being messed about & I was very hot & in pain & I had to just leave as I was getting very agitated.

User

So myself and my family visited on Sunday the 1st July. Very disappointed that I didn't get to enjoy the experience with my husband due to our 15 month old being scared. And not one member of staff mentioned that it wasn't suitable for him. My son got upset at the first actor and my husband managed to get out with our son but was without his buggy or anything for our son. For almost two hours. I would have loved the experience more had my husband been there. And feel they should have an age limit as we could have enjoyed the shrek world next door whilst our family was at the dungeons then we could have switched so myself and husband could have enjoyed the dungeons whilst our family cared for our son. In the hot weather we had that day I was worried about my husband and son the whole time I was in the dungeons. I think it was great just wish I could have enjoyed it more.

User

It was very interesting good day but the person who you can ask for help on here by email not helpful at all my daughter got a cup from there an it was broken when we got it didn’t realise so by the time we got home the red liquid come out as it was no longer in a standing position it ruined the receipt as well so what would you all do with it as I chucked the whole bag with it all in there I email to see what can be done as it was broke in first place all I keep getting back is you need the receipt if you want us to do anythink but should not the times we went in cctv be anuff proof to see if we got it but still they would have none of it even tho I told them I got rid of it in the first place so thanks London dungeons so people always keep your receipt because they will not help you even tho they have cctv don’t count apparently even when you tell them everything you bought down to the carry bag

User

Came today 10am sun 3/6 , no drop ride and when did they stop the free drink ( a couple years ago when drop wernt working we got a free drink instead ) not this time , such a disappointment for my sons 1st trip ,

User

After doing the edinburgh dungeons we were very excited to do the london dungeons. Overall the actors were good and entertaining but what let the whole experience down was the customer service at the end where you grab your photos.

We requested a magnet and payed for what we thought was a magnet but then get told we would be getting a photo as there were no magnets but before and during payment we were not advised of that even though we asked more than twice.

We were offered a refund which we accepted but was then greeted with a very passive aggressive attitude from the supervisor that could issue the refund.

She was rude and made a point of asking someone "to make sure our print was torn up"

She then handed us the money and walked off without saying a word.

Furthermore, the group's are too big and as much as i appreciate the need for people translating it does take away from the atmosphere and excitement of it all as all you can hear is the translator. If someone has the need for a translator it might be worth while advising others of that or supplyng audio players so it doesn't interupt the actors when they are doing their thing and doesnt distract the audience.

There were some good parts and i appreciate the efforts of the actors and the work into the setw but not worth the £30.

Edinburgh was half the price and twice the fun. I won't be recommending London unfortunately. Also, we were able to buy a single magnet from Edinburgh - Why are the magnets only offered in expensive packages and not individually?

User

45mins stood still in a stifling hot, dark corridor- queues both sides. Not a great start! Ruining the whole experience. Complained & told they were busy! No point in a booked slot then! Felt like cattle being herding around from then on in,with the groups too big. Could have been enjoyable as the actors did seem to give it their all.

User

You lot couldn’t organise a drink in a pub if you was all actually sat in the pub. Rammed. Standing round for hour and a half still not in. Disgusting.
