We have a patient participation group meeting held at Lonsdale Medical Centre this Monday 9th July at 6pm - 7:15pm. If you are a patient and would like to come please email ppg.lonsdale@nhs.net. Any ideas and improvements you'd like to address are more than welcome to be contributed in the meeting. The GP partners will also be attending the meeting. The Brent community falls service has been successfully running for over a year now, and has been a key factor in helping over 400 Brent patients improve their lifestyle. One of many examples is shown in the video below
If you or someone you know have had one or more falls within the last year or have a history of recent fractures from a fall. Do ask your GP if you feel a referral would be beneficial for you a relative or someone you care for.

If you could reduce your risk of getting cervical cancer would you?
All women aged 25 to 64 who are registered with us are invited for cervical screening. If you don’t have an invitation and are unsure if you are due, please call the reception and book in!

The number of women being seen for cervical screening in the UK is falling year on year. Currently, only 61% of the female population in North West London are attending cervical screening appointments, the London average is 66% and across England it is 72%. We are working closely with the CCG (Clinical Commissioning Groups) to bring awareness to on the matter.

A short video of an interview with leading dementia awareness campaigner Tommy Whitelaw. Tommy used to travel the world as part of his role heading up global merchandising for pop acts the Spice Girls, Kylie and U2.
When his mother was diagnosed with vascular dementia. Since then, Tommy has dedicated his time to campaigning to raise the awareness of dementia. Tommy was interviewed by the editor of the Nursing Times, Jenni Middleton and the film can be viewed below.

There is a Dementia Café opened at Willesden sports Centre! It’s a place for people living with dementia and their carers to relax, socialise, do activities and get support. The café is FREE to attend and runs weekly on a Tuesday's from 2-4pm.
There is also chair based exercise before at 12pm and dementia friendly swimming/water exercise afterwards if you wish to take part. The centre has free parking and serves a range of refreshments in the coffee bar.
