Wow , what more can be said. The food was excellent the waiting staff were friendly and professional. It was our wedding Anniversary yesterday and couldn't of wished for a better place to celebrate it. Thank you for an amazing time

User

Well, what can I say! Our Engagement celebration was all the more enjoyable due to the amazing staff. Pretty sure Paul the Manager is proud of his team. We were a party of 18 & the serving went without a hitch. Our waitress Fearn was amazing! Well done for keeping us fed & watered. A big heads up too to the rest of the team, Pablo, the 2 Megan’s & Cameron & of course the chefs. Many thanks. We will be returning to celebrate other family occasions.

User

We visited yesterday for Mother’s Day, and even though it was packed the service was really good and the food first class.

We had the Steamer (a beef, mushroom and red wine suet pudding), scampi and chicken ranch burger, and all were great.

Would definitely return, but I might have something smaller so I can try a dessert too.

User

We had been meaning to try this place for some time and did so yesterday, the village was mobbed even in the pouring rain due to the vintage car show on the green but what a welcome refuge The Oak on the Green provided. My husband had the ribs and I had a fillet steak, followed by mango cheesecake and creme brulee.... all to die for. Great service, reasonably priced (not cheap) even in the absence of a good chardonnay! The pinot was most agreeable. We will be back and will try the Fish on the Green next time seeing as we hogged a parking space out front

User

We had a lovely meal today. The portions were very generous and the food was lovely .Our waitress was called Jess a lovely young lady. She was very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us .Cant wait to go there again and we would definitely recommend it .

User

The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was great - well cooked, tasty and decent sized portions. It is a very popular place to eat - book in advance to ensure you get a table. Will definitely eat there again. If I lived nearer it could become my local.

User

Stopped for a drink on the way home from work on a few occasions recently (I blame the heat and traffic jams!) and always receive a lovely friendly welcome for ourselves and our dog! Haven’t eaten anything but a packet of crisps yet but are planning to dine this week as it always smells and looks divine!

User

My daughter and I visited on Sunday....we had the delicious pork belly.....and a yummy cheeseburger. The service was excellent and the staff were super friendly. We’ve visited a fair few times and would definitely recommend it....superb, good value for money food!!

User

Just wanted to say thank you to all the staff and especially the chefs for a super lunch yesterday to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We both love The Steamer even though we know we can never finish it we still order it and then feel bad that we have to leave so much. Of course it might help if we didn’t have a starter but they’re so good too we can’t resist! Looking forward to returning soon.

User

Amazing place to eat and drink. The staff are lovely and the food is great. Definitely by far my favourite pub. We took my in laws there for lunch on weds and they walked away very impressed. Thank you for the great service Ian x

User

Very impressed! Had a table of 30 for a birthday plus the restaurant was full - no meals were pre ordered and the staff coped amazingly well. Sometimes under this much pressure the standards in restaurants go down but the food and service was faultless - well priced too. I absolutely loved the muscles

User

As always great food and staff. Noisy night but expected as it's a popular place. Had sirloin steak and although it was tender I wasn't keen on the charcoal taste I prefer it being cooked on a flat. We are regular customers and will continue to be

User

Used to go here a lot as the food was fab since it has changed hands the food hasn’t got as much flavour and some of the food doesn’t taste fresh . The staff are nice but a little to quick to get a order from you .

User

Went for lunch here today and was really not impressed with the service we received. We got charged for a bottle of wine when we only ordered a small white wine spritzer and then had to ask for the chips that was meant to come with the sandwich.

User

We visit this local establishment, each time spending around £400, about twice a year, and yes, it’s never been the greatest service, but the food made up for it.

Sad to say, even if they had served Michelin Star food, it wouldn’t have made up for the terrible service.

I’ve never seen such a disinterested server in all my time of visiting restaurants around the world.

The order taking was a shambles, she delivered the cutlery by holding onto the fork prongs, she offered no options of sauces to compliment our steaks, she decided to argue the case when we stated one of the steaks was very fatty, and to top it all off, when I politely requested a straw, she turned away raising her eyebrows.

The best moment was watching her hand around waiting for a tip when we paid the £400 bill. I always leave at least 10%. Suffice to say, she left disappointed!

This is after having to wait 20 mins for the bill to arrive.

The food is a strong 8/10, the service we received is a generous 1/10.

It’s a shame that this restaurant lets itself down with such substandard servers who clearly need to be trained in the art of customer service.

User

The place is lovely you can’t doubt that. Car park is always overflowing... good sign but also a pain. I suspect this place is a victim of its own success.

Visited today for my 3rd and final time, we were a party of 10, ok so there was a few of us.

Waited at least half an hour for our drinks order which probably should’ve been a sign of things to come!

Eventually the food came out 1.5 hours after we had arrived. It was average at best, the steak was small and looked over done and subsequently over priced.

The chicken tikka kebabs were average , large enough in quantity but I wouldn’t go out of my way to tell you to go try them. The salad was again average with large lumps of unchopped lettuce and not much else.

The waitress was very friendly, so can’t blame her. It just didn’t all come together (much like my previous experiences with this place)

Finally left 4 hours after arriving for a lunch, it’s pretty much dinner time.

Shame.

User

I love this place and always tell people they won’t be disappointed, not sure what was going on yesterday chef having a bad day I think, had too send daughters steak back twice to be told its how it should be full of gristle not impressed one of the other steaks was inedible £290 for 8 people a very poor meal and I was up all night with upset stomach and all I could taste was the belly pork I had

Very let down and disappointed

Come on guys sort it out

User

Have been here on a number of occasions and can never fault it..but we came here last week for a birthday meal and I can honestly say it was awful..food was dry..missing items that we had ordered and had to wait for them..abc by the time they came out had finished the meal..don’t know if it was a different chef or they just couldn’t cope with the amount they had in..but we will not be going back..and it’s a shame

User

Food was ok. Not great but ok but the service was crazy slow. First round of drinks took nearly 20 mins to arrive and not all them came so had to order again. I asked a waitress to order another round and she said she will be with me in a moment. That moment never came. Overall i won't be going back again.
