History Past History The club really starts its beginnings as the FOC (Fellowship of Old Comrades) which dates back to the 90’s.
In 2006, the club took a new direction under the Chairmanship of David (Smokey) Smith. Smokey addressed a number of fundamental issues with the running of the club and a new committee was proposed and voted in. During Smokey’s tenure the club began to focus on the support of serving ex-serving members of The Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces.

Addressing the Legacy of Northern Ireland's Past Have your say on Northern Ireland Legacy Issues.
‘This Government will never forget the huge debt of gratitude we owe to our Armed Forces and Police Officers. Over 250,000 people served in Northern Ireland during Operation Banner the longest continuous military deployment in our country’s history – the vast majority with great distinction.’ THE RT HON KAREN BRADLEY MP Secretary of State for Northern Ireland.
... The Government is carrying out a consultation on addressing the legacy of the 'Troubles' in Northern Ireland (1968-2008). Members of the Armed Forces who served on OP BANNER, veterans and all those who have an interest in the future of Northern Ireland are strongly encouraged to participate. The consultation is open until 10 September 2018 and can be completed online or in writing. Full details can be found at: https://consultations.nidirect.gov.uk/… /07df6f91/con…/intro/ Any comments and views on this matter can only help.

Well like all good bodies, there is usually a small, strong, reliable engine that keeps the engine driving, the wheels turning, and the whole bloody thing pulling together, in the same direction.

BLOODY WELL DONE SANDY

User

Well done Sandy this is a great idea and a great way to contact other vets. Looking forward to the future with the PRA facebook on board.

Top draw like a lot of the lads its nice to see something more accessible than waiting for the post, and a tribute to Sandy and the team who are always there to help at any time with no questions no matter how trivial, just as Jean used to at the old PRI shop in the shot.

Having kept out of touch for many years, some of them "off the radar"; it is good to see the new HQ and PRA Museum. Members new need to see the deeds of those who went before and this indeed helps to instil the Esprit de Corps necessary of such a unit. Those involved should be proud of this achievement, I know that the good work will continue in the irrepressible tradition of The Regiment.

Utrinque Paratus ad infinitum.
