Yet another one of London’s iconic music studios is under threat from developers! The Strongroom has been a cultural and musical hub in East London since 1984, and now it’s at risk of closure due to a tower block being constructed next door.

We had legendary vibes player, composer and Father of Ethio-Jazz Mulatu Astatke in Studio A recently, recording with 10 piece Afro-beat jazz group Nubiyan Twist. Engineered by our own Oli Barton-Wood. Looking forward to hearing this release!

A serious, wonderful din was coming from that room!

What a fantastic experience. I was fortunate to have a one-to-one studio session with the awesomely talented Yolanda Brown. Not only was that a great experience I have to say, the studios are very pleasant and staff, very friendly.

Oh, yes, a lovely cafe with pleasant surroundings, friendly staff and great coffee..!!

Two types of people hang out here: Music Lovers and Food Lovers. I love both.

For Music Lovers, there are brilliant rehearsal studios, equipment and some of the nicest staff in studios I've worked with. Popular bands & personalities are regular occurring here.

For food lovers, there is a mixed variety menu serving from paninis to spanish omelletes to stir-fries to Korma. And again, some of the nicest staff. The prices are unbelievably reasonable for London high streets.

Two courses now and two original tracks - the courses are fantastic

I had a great day at the Premises studio yesterday recording drums for Joe Elliot's Down 'N' Outz with Phil Martini. Phil played a blinder! Neil Tolitt was assisting. Neil has taken this studio to the next level since becoming studio manager ... lots of lovely Neve 1073s, API's, Burl pres etc, loads of new mics, Bryston power amp for the NS 10m monitors and lots of other top notch gear. Looking forward to my next production session there.

Great studio, great vibe and the staff couldn't do enough to help us. Will be back! Thank you.
