User

the beer is second to none and the food is very good and the prices are even better ..a great afternoon with entertainment from the live band 54 red door ...i didnt want to go home

User

Unbeatable! This is a place you should drive past on the way to Maldon or Burnham if you actually WANT to get there!!! But, then again, I'm a regular and should really be keeping the Prince one of Essex's best kept secrets!!!

User

This is a proper old fashioned pub.

Great choice of ales and great food.

Visit in the winter time and you will be greeted with lovely warm wood fires...

User

The best pub in Britain! That's based on the choice of beer, quality food, great service, superb ambience, wonderful old building and the events that take place there. It's a must visit.

User

The Prince of Wales is very much a typical English pub. Friendly atmosphere, excellent beer and drinks, freshly prepared food, with excellent pizzas on Thursdays.

Accommodation is available in a small number of rooms tastefully decorated.

A really nice place to drink, eat and stay in the south of Essex.

Stayed overnight as we were attending an event at Three Rivers. The room was gorgeous, plenty of room and beautifully clean. We had a seriously comfortable bed as well which was a pleasant surprise. Breakfast was yum, and freshly cooked. The staff were lovely and the drinks weren't bank breaking either! Would definitely return!

User

Stayed here last night. Beautiful room with 4 poster bed and large bathroom. Bed really comfortable. Room spotless with crisp clean sheets. Jar of coffee in the room. Excellent breakfast. Friendly and attentive staff. No complaints whatsoever. Highly recommended! Well done to you all!

The 37 Ground Crew - Christmas Event

The other evening on Saturday 2nd December 2017 - The 37 Ground Crew - Volunteers & Friends of Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome - had their Christmas 'Jollie' in the Green Room at the rear of the PoW pub. Landlord Rob & his staff laid on an excellent evening with plenty of food in a very pleasant atmosphere. Any little request was 'no problem' to the PoW staff. -

If You are visiting Essex & want to visit the only WW1 aerodrome - surviving in its near original condition - the PoW is the best place to stay - it is where the WW1 pilots & Crew came !

Not sure how long my Husband and I have visited this wonderful pub probably about 22 years we had our 10th Wedding Anniversary here (stayed in one of the rooms, so did another three couples our lovely friends) next morning had breakfast which was fantastic. This year it will be our 20th Anniversary which of course we have booked the rooms already, really looking forward to it. Lots of our friends are joining us as they all love the pub too. My husband loves the Ales that the prince of wales has to offer, Food is also really good. 👍

User

Lovely to go to a proper English pub still, lovely friendly & helpful staff too. We ordered food from a varied menu which was cooked fresh & tasted amazing! Shall definately be going back soon and highly recommend sitting in their gardens to enjoy yourself! 5* rating x

User

Lovely food, great menu, promt service, great staff and all set in a beautiful old and original pub and garden. 👌🏼

User

Great fireworks display and music from Mr Spankey and the Hipthrusters. Food was good too. Only complaint was the lights in the portaloos didn't work so, as men can't aim in the dark, it got a bit grim in there! Apart from that, brilliant.

User

Food is always great, and my husband loves the different ales. Been our local for the last two years, how lucky are we. Love all the different events, keep it up guys.

User

First visit to this lovely old pub, had lunch, which was fantastic, the best peace of fish I've had in years, fantastic welcome from the staff, we will be back very soon 👍🏻
