The Queens Head, Downe Village

Open again today between noon and 3pm. The Queens Head market stall has plenty of sausages, bacon, cheese, milk, bread, eggs, as well as Fresh vegetable, Salad and fruit. Check tomorrow’s weather you may need some extra salad items to make the most of the sunshine in your gardens,

Market stall outside the Queens Head will be open tomorrow from noon until 3pm. We have plenty of vegetables, salad items and fruit as you can see from the pictures, We also have essential items like milk, eggs, sausages, bacon, bread, toilet rolls, cheese etc. As per last week, which worked very well, only one household at a time at the market stall, and contactless payment wherever possible please. if busy please queue towards the Church with at least two metres between ho...useholds. Vulnerable households can pre order either directly with us or through your road rep, we can arrange delivery later in the day. We are continuing to offer take - away / delivery food and drink (mon - sat noon - 3pm and 5pm - 8pm, sorry closed Sunday) The new Ale this week is from Purple Moose, called Calon Lan it is a 4% amber ale, floral aromas with fruity hop finish. A new scam reported in our village. Please read, this is how they work.

Just a reminder, the Queens Head is still open for collections and deliveries from our Take away menu (call 0189 852145 to order), we are open from 12 noon - 3pm and from 5pm - 8pm. we will also sell drinks for takeaway purposes during these hours, this week's Ale on draught is Lancaster Bomber. Please bring your own containers. We will also be opening a fruit, veg, salad and essentials market stall for local residents this Friday and Saturday again, more news on this to follow Thursday.

Update:........ Fruit and Veg delivery delayed, should arrive mid afternoon, eggs, bread, milk, sausages and toilet rolls arrived, these will be on sale from noon along with takeaway food and drink.
Today we will have a market stall set up in the front porch of the pub between noon and 4pm, and if I have any stock left i will also open Saturday between noon and 4pm. we should have a selection of Fresh Vegetables, Fruit and Salad items, supplied by Greens of Covent Garden. Mil...k, Eggs, Bread and some toilet rolls, supplied by Bidfood. I also have some Sausages available from our Butchers (Whitegate Farm)
We are asking that only one household visit the market stall at any one time, with an orderly Queue of 2 metres between people if demand is high. We would also prefer contactless payment on the stall, but will take cash if no contactless payment possible
For households unable to visit the stall, we can deliver (drop the produce on your doorsteps) later this afternoon / evening if you call up and buy over the telephone after noon.
