So bit into this burger and honestly thought was in heaven. The bartender gave me a plastic pint glass which is great cause I always drop my beer and the place felt like I was just about to go watch the Sydney swans go pile 100 points on colligwood. Ripper of a pub, great for an aussie nz or south african tourist, but probably wont be back cause the cheap pints made me spend all money but highly recommend. 3 ply toilet paper and some hectic bartenders, put a fork in me and let me dance to Whitney Houston here all day

So I've been coming here for a while and always had a great time and tonight was nothing different. Great vibe inside and great service but have got to give a shout out to the bouncers on the door. Wednesdays are clearly very popular and the bouncers Mark, Mickey and Will were on incredible form dealing with all the punters wanting to get in. And they behaved perfectly to everyone already in even though it was heaving. Very refreshing to see in a London club and I look forward to going back again soon.

I came down to this place because it has gained a significant reputation among my university friends. There was no entry fee (bonus points) and upon entering I saw the DJ with his name planted on the wall in huge letters "DJ Osama Spin Laden" and at that point I already knew all I needed to know about this place.

The music includes the best Commercial Cheese you can find in the city, and it's synced up with video so you can watch people dance while you dance as people watch you dance. The DJ is in fact so talented to the point that he can mix all the songs without using headphones at all, and regardless you'll be guaranteed a great time.

The floor can get sticky on wilder nights but I guess it's called the Slug for a reason. Do not panic if you don't see any of the standard smoke cannons around; DJ Osama Spin Laden has a portable can of 'something' that he can spray at the crowd at any time, and they love it. My only regret is that all the bartenders don't have one of those as well.

All in all, definitely the place to go to with your friends. Oh and try to wear shoes that you're prepared to lose.

Hi guys, I absolutely love The Slug, always have such a great time there! Just one thing, I left my coat there on Friday eve, tried to call you a few times and my friend sent you a Facebook message. I understand you guys are very busy and I really love the place but it would be great if you could let me know if it's still there and if so, when I could pick it up. You guys are awesome!

User

Well what can I say.. the place is an alright kinda night out. When there's a deal on the drinks are cheap! However 8/10 times I've ended up with gut rot the day after (I suspect the pipes need to be cleaned more throughly). Been attending semi regularly since roughly March of this year, the playlist has changed a little.. but just a little. Great if you like cheese but the DJ won't play anything he hasn't got a video for as a rule. My only outright problem was this summer when during a storm there was water pouring out a light fitting.. interesting times. To summarise the slug can be a good night out if you don't take yourself too seriously. Just don't wear white, don't wear anything expensive and be prepared for battle of the bastards when trying to get a drink post 11pm

User

Zero stars.....turned up at 10pm and got told we can't get in because "we are not regulars" 2 mins later we asked some people that he is letting in have you been here before and he said no it's my first time....so much for being a good Aussie/Kiwi/South African pub. With visitors coming for RWC you guys seriously need to tell your security staff to stop thinking so highly of themselves and do their job of checking IDs! What a joke! Don't waste your time at this place!

Tonight I witnessed something horrific at "the slug".

I have just witnessed a girl pass out in front of the slug almost immediately after it had closed tonight. The owner also called police. Was extremely rude to onlookers and honestly did not care about the care and welfare of the individual lying on the ground. The owner after half an hour of the girl lying on the ground told a security guard to pick her up and to put her in a taxi (whilst she was unconscious). Not knowing what was wrong with her....

I have never witnessed such a lack of care for another human being. Was he a doctor?

No. He was just a man who wanted to go home and found the quickest option to do so.

To end this. I really hope the girl is OK. I don't know what hapenned to her after what happened, and even though I'm righting this whilst drunk, I also know that what happened tonight was wrong.... And I'm so disappointed in the human decency with the slug...

User

The owner is a pretentious dick, just wanted a pint with my mates...

User

Rubbish, manager is a rude fat human who needs to find a new job, wouldn’t recommend security are rude as well especially Eli, a pair of silly mugs

On Saturday 17th February, I went to The Slug at Fulham. On this particular night, there was apparently a change in their licensing laws which meant you had to be 21 in order to enter. I have been to the Slug numerous times and have never had this issue prior.

I went to the Slug at Fulham to meet up with some friends who were celebrating a birthday. The birthday girl was turning 20, and was refused entry. She had travelled across London to spend her birthday at a place she has visited multiple times and was shocked to be treated this way. In saying that, this is something that can’t be argued because if that’s what their licensing allows then they have to abide by this.

However, they did not abide by this consistently. At the same time our friend was denied entry because of her age - I had already had my ID check and was granted entry even though I am TWENTY years old.

Furthermore, they then had the audacity to throw me out once it had been brought to the bouncer’s attention by my friends. The bouncers then accused me of never scanning my ID in when entering even though my girlfriend had previously pointed out my ID on their system.

Their contradicting, inconsistent way of running their nightclub is not only illegal but shows a complete lack of respect to their customers.

User

No advertisements or info on Facebook (if there is please show me) that no under 21s allowed in on Saturday night which is pretty shoddy considering people travel across London. Fair enough that this rule was enforced for the night but if you're gonna enforce a rule then make sure your door staff know how to read birthdays and/or and actually abide by the rule, because our friend who got there before us who is 20 got in.. proved this by showing manager and door staff his ID when we weren't believed. Cheers and please don't take this as being rude, I just think you need to be more aware of situations like this as it's not really fair on your prospective punters to arrive and then be turned away.

My friend and I just ordered a desert, the ran out of lemon pie, fine. I ordered an apple crumble and asked if I can have ice cream instead of cream, the "waiter" says "I'll check if it's possible", fine. 20minutes after (is their deserts were home made I would understand) my friend and I got our dessert no ice cream on both of them (my friends meant to come with) and my crumble looked like I don't know what but not a crumble, I didn't even want to try.

My friend is still laughing about the state of that crumble.

We asked for ice cream 10 minutes after the "waiter" came with custard because they ran out of ice cream.

Anyway shit experience.

I've been there last night with my Australian friends and Australian boyfriend, it was around 11pm and they were letting everyone in. When the guy at the door checked my Romanian ID he didn't let me in..saying "not tonight". I can't explain how frustrated, offended and sad i felt! He wouldn't give any explanations to my boyfriend. All this isn't right, i can understand that they want aussies and kiwis mostly but there was no reason for the security guy to be rude and so offensive, treating me and my boyfriend like shit. He was racist and disrespectful.

My boyfriend emailed them about what happened and no one got back to us.

Think twice when you want to bring your European friends to The Slug.

User

I was told I cannot come in because I wasn’t in a mixed group, then saw 8 other men walk in and again tried and was told NO! I noticed everyone else wasn’t the same colour as me, not on!! Even called head office n nothing done! The bar manager even said we don’t have to let you in! Hhhhmmm

User

I was there tonight with a group and 3 of my male friends were not allowed in because they “were not with a group of girls” absolutely shocking considering I said they were with me and a clear group of 3+ girls who were inside with me. The men were sober, not causing any issues and still refused entry. really not impressed with this. Never coming back again.

User

I love the slug. Nothing like a good slug night. But how I got treated on Christmas was far beyond anything I’ve ever experienced in my 8 years in London. It was £12 to get in fair enough. But a guy in the front of the queue was short 1£ so I decided to pay it for him. I gave my £20 and he gave his £11. So that’s £31 for a £24 bill. When asked for my £7 change it was refused!!! Never got it back.

User

Fucking fuming mate. Bought tickets to the Slug Christmas. We were super excited about going! Arrived early to avoid disappointment, but arrived to a massive queue of people who also had tickets. Felt like a money making ploy as person after person left the queue to seek refuge from the wind and rain, as well as something a little more fun on Christmas Day. A huge disappointment.

User

Friends not let in because they “weren’t with girls”. Sexist and homophobic really. I was only in the area because I was visiting a friend and this has left a bad taste in my mouth and I will warn anyone I know visiting London to not go near this establishment if they want a good, non-discriminatory night.

User

Embarrassed that this is know as an Australian pub, nothing Australian about it!! Service is terrible and the worst part is they throw away items left in the cloak room if not collect that night. Is that a joke? A 300£ coat thrown away! My friend came to collect her coat a few days after and has to hear that and now her phone calls aren't being answered. Disgusting.
