The Battalion celebrate Salamanca Day with a fun filled PT session followed by a Families afternoon Country Fair style

B Company 1 RIFLES practicing movement with an Urban Stalk. Moving as individuals and in small groups trying to remain concealed from each other. Reverting to tools such as the Infantry Periscope and assault ladders to gain an edge against their adversary.
7 RIFLES held their annual Operational shooting competition last weekend at Longmoor ranges. After an intensive competition which included a mixture of team and individual events A Company successfully became overall winners.
One of the coveted shoots was the Best Shot which was the final competition. This was made up of the 3 best firers from each company who battled it out in a shoot off on the final day. Congratulations to LCpl Donnelly who won best shot.
5 RIFLES are busy training in BATUS whilst providing the enemy force (also know as OPFOR) for the training Battlegroup.
Spread the word a Rifles skydiving club is being formed. So far we have 24 Riflemen that regularly skydive and it’s growing every week. If you're interested follow the link below to the Rifles Skydiving Club. An expert will talk you through how to get into the sport. Soon we will have a display team and hope to jump into Allianz Park in 2020 will you be on the team?

... SO2 Targetry is the lead staff officer for the provision and availability of ground targetry for all UK Defence Training Estate Ranges and overseas ranges. The role sits within the Operations and Plans branch of OR & DTE. The holder will ensure sufficient liaison with the user community to be able to provide and plan for sufficient targetry to meet current and future Service needs. The user community will include the three Services, Joint Helicopter Command, Individual Training Establishments, Cadet Forces, formations and units.

The Rifles Regimental Association have been allocated 40 places for Rifles veterans to march on the 2018 Cenotaph Parade. To qualify you must have been badged Rifles.
Due to heightened security measures the Met Police will conduct individual security checks on all applicants. Basic personal information will be needed in advance for each applicant (please request application form from london@the-rifles.co.uk;). Ticket holders will need to bring both photographic ID and a docum...ent showing proof of address for access to Horse Guards Parade via the manned Police entry points on the day. The named tickets are not transferable.

Form-up on Horse Guards Parade from 0915hrs, to be assembled by 1000hrs with step off to Whitehall at 1015hrs (over by 1230hrs). Dress is civilian clothes (Dark trousers, jacket & Regtl tie) with medals. Beret/Side-Hat as headdress, an overcoat, stout shoes and an umbrella is recommended. This event is not for spouses, teenagers, children or babes in arms. Participants will have to make their own travel arrangements to London.
Application: Please apply to london@the-rifles.co.uk; Subject Line: Cenotaph Parade 2018 by 01 Aug or before if you wish to have a ticket on a first comes first served basis. Applicants who need a carer need to apply for a carer’s ticket.

The Roebuck saturday @ ATR Winchester was just fantastic, all the training staff were spot on.
All the tasks were great, but my favourite of the day was the high wire assault course.
It's a great motivator for anyone pre-selection.
