Hi all, we have been receiving quite a few messages on here concerning the pub so thought it was best we clarified. The pub is brewery owned & they have assured us of a full refurbishment. The reason for the boarding up of the property is to try prevent any antisocial behaviour. There’s also a slight delay in the beginning of the works due to planning with the local authorities. We’d like to thank anyone & everyone for their custom over the years and hope to see you all by the end of the year for the reopening. Have a good summer x

We went for a family meal yesterday and had a lovely time , the food was excellent with large potions given, service was great , will definitely going back there. Well worth a visit.

Visited 22/8/15. Absolutely fabulous homemade burger; very succulent and lovely presentation. Great service. Thoroughly recommend.

The roast beef dinner was lovely. I even ate all my veg!

The food is always great you are made to feel so welcome in a lovely old aged beamed pud with a lovely log fire this time of the year and plenty of seating outside for them summer months plenty of events put on for all tastes of music through the year in and outside an all round great experience would advise anyone to visit

Great food, lovely service always a good time in there.

Excellent and friendly service. The new management have created a fantastic atmosphere and the food, especially the from the children's menu, is superb.

Another amazing Sunday Lunch today. ..by passed a Starter so I'd have room for a dessert !! Big thumbs up from all in our party x

A quality Pub with excellent Food, especially the Sunday Roast with a fine choice of meats and healthy portions.

A lovely pub in a great setting. The new management have turned this place into a must visit destination for all the family 👍🏻

Much improved. Been for Sunday dinner twice now and on both occasions the food was absolutely brilliant. Roast can be one, two or even 3 meats and the veg is delicious.



Went once with family and then with another family. Guinness also now tastes like it should do. Seems like they are making an effort to get this place back to what it was so give it a try - defo recommend Sunday dinner.
