The Barnet Hospital site of the Royal Free London Group is soon going to join the rest of the Group in changing and updating the way we work with the new Electronic Patient Record (EPR). With the new Chase Farm Hospital site building officially operational late last month training of staff here on the Barnet Site will begin soon to sync us with the Chase Farm Hospital site in Enfield. The vision of the Royal Free London Group to become 'the most digitally adva...nced trust in the entire NHS by 2020 is on course. Staff training is already underway and before the year runs out this hospital is going completely paperless. So I ask you to look forward to more updates from this place.

I work in the Acute Stroke Unit of Barnet Hospital. The Acute Stroke Unit is part of the London Stroke Network. Starting upstream with the Hyper Acute Stroke Unit. They offer instant specialist care within the 48 hour window of a stroke happening wether it be haemorragic or ischaemic, they are sufficiently equipped to put in place measures that will go along way to assist the patient to recover. After the 48 hour window has passed care can pass downstream to the Acute Stroke ...Units where multi-disciplinary team care will now take over, nursing and surgical care is now joined by therapy and dietary considerations with a focus leading up to Rehabilitation that is ultimately the next stage in the network. Stroke has come along way in the last two decades. We need to see it go further.
