Went there for the first time yesterday though we've lived around the corner for years. I reckon it marches if not beats some of the bars/pubs I've been to recently. Tasteful interior, very family friendly, and the food menu is lovely. Also I loved the choice of background music too. I've booked to go back there to celebrate my birthday with the family.

Took my son and his girlfriend for dinner. Well all had fish and chips. Huge portions but still really tasty. Barman wearing a baseball cap was very good. Would definitely recommend

The fish and chips is well prepared , speedy and so filling. The service is great too!

Ive been here a couple of times when I visit my daughter, the food is great, lovely staff and a nice atmosphere. I come from the north of England and I look forward to coming when I visit!!

I love it here .. foods is excellent .. so children friendly .. price's o.k..I find staff always chirpy and polite...

Great food, a considerate selection for those with vegetarian/ vegan/ gluten intolerance needs. Really great selection of drinks. Probably going to call this my new local. Sports on the screens and family time in equal measures....I'd say good work!

This is the 2nd time we have eaten at the Rye. 1st time we had the Sunday lunch. 2nd time burger and haddock. The menu was varied and on both occasions the food was well prepared and service good.

Piled in for a Birthday Celebration and was very pleasantly surprised by the capacious garden, the large covered outdoor area that protected us amply from the weather, the attentiveness of the staff and the general aura of the venue. Did not eat, but it looks like the kitchen delivers judging by the smiles on the faces of the consumers!

My food was great but that wasn't the story for the whole group. Nice choice of bitters though and enjoyed the ambience and the company. Staff tried hard to keep on top during the very busy period and remained pleasant to deal with.

Had a meal there with my wife in the very nice garden on Friday afternoon. The staff were very polite and efficient. The food was very good. My wife was very impressed with her steak and my fish and chips large and very tasty. As it was early in the afternoon it wasn't to busy. We expect it will be very busy on a Sunday afternoon but we go there to try a Sunday roast soon.We were both pleasantly impressed.

Been here a few times.. Nice location and friendly staff . My issue is the football on tv . Went to the pub yesterday to watch the Wales game and the sound was off !! and some cheesy playlist was on instead. i know it serves food and good food at that . .However the the front of the pub should be used to for patrons wanting to watch the footy with sound and enjoying the great food and atomosphere !!! might sound pety but if ya gone have it on have the sound on .

The beer was good, but I was expecting it to be better. The food was good (I am Italian), the room was good and cosy!

It's a great pub with a massive beer garden, but the food was rather bad, considering the price I expected great food, but the burger I had was very dry and the bun was too. When the waitress came to remove the plates I told her that it was a little dry, and perhaps the food was a day old or so, the response I got was very short "they were delivered today." and then she skulked off.

I would recommend if going for a drink, but not worth eating there when there are so many other great pubs around the area like the Clockhouse and G

Great for a drink. I wouldn't advise eating here. The food is pretty bland and often a long wait for it to come out...if it's even still available on the menu. Most of the staff tend to be really friendly, but seem like they're used to being complained to when it comes to the food and delays, they get this bored look across their face...probably heard the, "I know it's not your fault" line quite often.

So yeah, for a drink definitely give it a go, but I would avoid if you're looking for a good meal.

Booked a table during the week and arrived just before 3pm.We were rudely told by a waitress that other people were just paying the bill at our table and get a drink by the bar (no apology for the delay) We then witnessed said people get served desert, and then served coffee.We waited a further 15 minutes to get served at the bar.

It was 3.30pm before we were seated, we ordered pretty promptly and didn't get food for another hour.Again, no apology.

The food was great when we got it but the service was just so bad.Besides waitress we dealt with on arrival,other staff members were pleasant.

The pub really needs to broaden its menu in terms of dishes and also prices. The selection for vegetarians is particularly poor, with only a couple of items offered. All of the items are quite pricey and the pub needs to offer some better value ones

Had lunch there today, Food was just ok nothing special. Nice interior but very disappointing service, perhaps you have to pay extra to get a smile or feel welcome. Like the table tennis and petanque run (french boules) its dog friendly but can't supply you a dog bowl for water apparently!
