Mark the date - 31 March 2019. General Brian Peddle says: 'This is an important day in the Salvation Army calendar. As I travel, it is encouraging to be regularly confronted with such vivacious worship and a contagious desire to serve as I see whenever and wherever I meet Salvationist young people'

Today (24 January) is the International Day of Education.
We want to encourage you to pray for all those involved in education, whether they be teachers, students, administrators, sports coaches, janitors, parents, governors or many of the other roles crucial for education. What can you do to support schooling in your community?
The Salvation Army runs a number of education facilities around the world – there are approximately 5,000 schools, 600,000 pupils and 20,000 teachers..., mostly in urban deprived or rural remote communities.
We aim to break down barriers to education that prevent children and youth who are marginalised from access to quality education. We seek to engage them in high quality learning spaces, both formal and non-formal, that are inclusive, equitable and safe; to nurture the development of their foundational academic and life skills that equip them to seize learning opportunities throughout their lives; and to ensure every learner has the opportunity to achieve their full potential and learn the skills necessary for them to make a meaningful contribution to the life of their community.
