The Scotch Of St James Description
The Scotch of St James is a nightclub, live music and private event space which first opened its doors on the 14th of July 1965. Renowned as the preferred playground for just about every major music personality of the swinging 60's the club famously played host to a then unknown Jimi Hendrix's first impromptu gig on arrival in England in 1966.
More than twenty years after it last opened its doors, The Scotch was restored in January of 2012 and re-launched in March of 2014 after an eight month partnership with Le Baron in 2013. The current Scotch team is dedicated to building on its illustrious heritage as a culturally significant meeting point, aiming to host the city's most relevant and exciting events and personalities in music, fashion, film and the arts.

Tucked just out of the way enough to feel a bit secret. Great more intimate late night alternative to Cuckoo, Maddox etc
This is definitely a unique and special club. Cool music and cool people. Upper class.
Simply the Place to Be...
Possibly the best underground club in central London: a small and intimate basement, great soundsystem, good mixed crowd (not your typical Mayfair crowd at all) and very good music. Staff is lovely too it closes at 6am! The dream really
Nice place and delicious cocktails by Marco.
Lovely place, enjoyed so much, friendly atmosphere and kind staff.
Going back definitely.
London's best kept little secret ;) What a gem of a place!! Incredible music & vibe.
I had the privilege of hosting my 40th birthday here at the weekend, and it was first class. The manager, Gabriel, went above and beyond in preparation for the event, and all of the staff from the barman, to the doorman and cloakroom attendant, could not have been more professional, friendly and attentive.
I have had so many compliment from my guests on the venue, from its location to its decor and ambiance, and on the staff.
It really was a first class evening, and I couldn't have been happier.
Epic Christmas night out - I think . Took a little time today find but when I did .
Attended the 50th anniversary Jimi Hendrix gig. Door and bar staff very polite and helpful. Place is a little plain but has a lot of history.
A wonderful hidden gem with great character and opulence.
I Look forward to returning.

Really pretty and well designed venue. Great live sound quality. Friendly staff. Loopy drinks prices.
I had a lovely time. I came for a special event so I don't know how it is otherwise. But everyone was friendly. Only a little hard to find :)
Bar and lounge upstairs. Live music venue downstairs. Both small, some would say intimate. Staff were polite. Drinks were expensive. Great to have a live music venue in the heart of London however unlike others such as the hundred club there is no sign of its historic musical past. Also the high venue hire fees would put it beyond the reach of most musicians hoping to use it for a gig, which is a pity.
"Not Bad"
I went last night, not sure if its always the same night there but I must say I've never had the displeasure of visiting a more stuck up, contrived, living homage to Made In Chelsea. A totally vulgar, depressing and outdated bar full of over privileged bores. A blonde thing on the door who only lets you in when you've agreed to buy a bottle of overpriced alcohol. The entire experience reminded me of what i hate about London. Gross...dont go
