awesome place, awesome people, awesome bands.....if you like a low down rock and roll bohemian vibe this place is for you.
Very good Cocaine friendly cubicles , good selection of crisps
Simply the best small club in the area. Really immersive and charming mood, great people to hzng out with and most importantly great music. Loved it, just go see for yourself !
If you are looking for a really awesome gig this is the place to go to. Really genuine little pub with a venue at the back for arty types who appreciate good music.
I love this venue, as it's often used to promote many young exciting psychedelic bands from far and wide. The pub has a nice little garden/patio at the back and the size of the stage room is just right for the sound to connect with the audience.
I like it when you’re sat outside and it’s raining, no matter where you sit you’ll always get a drip on yer head, I like the way the drummers look like they’re living in a mini drum cave on the stage, I like the fact that even though I know there is a small step into the venue, I will always trip up on it & spill my drink. I had some food there once, a burger, it was alreeeet.
I keep going back to watch and hear all sorts of stuff, and I've not been disappointed yet.
Fantastic Live music venue with lots of character. Definitely recommend, any night of the week.
.....did I mention they make a cracking fish-finger sandwich?
Excellent music venue with very friendly staff. Great place for a loud gig!!
Best venue in London, always great gigs on that are free or cheap. Everyone working there is friendly, drinks are reasonably priced and the garden is lovely. Might get a bit too crowded on the weekends though.
Best small venue in London. Has been for the last 5 years. Even better now they finally have Guiness on tap!.
A very unique venue for Hackney and the DJ on the night we visited (Paul Hamford????) was bloody good! Shame the CDJs and mixer got knocked over by a drunken dancer on the stage and (pet peave of mine) the DJ got the blame and the drunken idiot got away scott-free. Garden was interesting and well decorated, prices were reasonable for the east end and security were surprisingly friendly. Definitely worth a visit if murky-quirky dance floor pubs are your bag.
I like the venue and the bands they put on, but on Monday (20 Feb) my husband's wallet was stolen from the BAR INSIDE THE VENUE which means people specifically went there to steal, paid the entry fee (or....? I won't start speculating...) and 10 minutes after my husband used his card to buy 2 drinks, his card was used 10 TIMES!!! in nearby shops and supermarkets, petrol stations etc. because it's contactless. Both his debit and his credit card. This wasn't just someone who found his wallet and then thought, ooh, maybe I could try, these people knew exactly what they were doing. So beware, professional thieves target this place. And by the way, no, we weren't drunk.
Good music venue, but why no proper ale? A wide array of ice cold fizzy beers, but only one sad looking hand pump which promptly ran out and was not changed. If you had some proper beer on tap, you would have sold a shit load of it last night!
promised 100 tickets on the door from 10.30 and then when people got there at 10 they said they would see after midnight if they'd let them in, thought the night maybe drew an unexpected crowd but bouncer said this has happened before - basically left people waiting out in the cold for hours and then not even letting them in
Well..me and my friends were asked, by staff members, if we were Italians.. the tone of it was quite pejorative ( this was because we made some enquiries)..and, by the way, we are not Italians!!!
Used to go there often when I lived in Dalston, liked it very much, always good bands play. But last revisit was horrible, the security guys by the door was very rude, patronising and intimidating, we are only 2 resonance girls, not drunks or mad people, they have to treat people with respect, being sucurity does not mean you have power over people, won't ever go back again. 😰
I was asked to pay £5 to enter the dance floor, I asked the staff member if the price was the same as it was 20 minutes before the closing time.. I was immediately asked if I am an Italian (no I am not Italian).. there was a very dirty look on that woman's face and on her tone when addressing to me, I am not Italian, but I truly felt disgusted by her racist tone!!
I tried to use the men's toilet and was physically pushed out without explanation by a woman who it turns out is the owner or bar manager. She then had me thrown out by the door staff for questioning her actions. I feel assaulted and humiliated and all for trying to use the toilet.
