This cheeky little number finely balances hard and soft, square and round, shinny and matt. It’s a quandary. With a plush velvet seat, polished squared brass piping (featuring an engraved Visionnaire logo of course) and the delicate curved shape, this is dining in style.

‘We worked the colour of the exterior of the building, which is a striking terracotta, into the furnishings. When we had selected the finishes and fabrics, including the beautiful Bourdeaux sofa from @thesofaandchair, we sent swatches of the materials to a very talented artist, that we work closely with. She created beautiful paintings featuring the colours. The overall effect we hope is a soothing sense of continuity, co-ordination and flow.’

AT S&C we love to see how our talented clients bring their projects together to create wonderful unique spaces. This particular project by the talented duo @thirteen.interior.design caught our eye on instagram so we asked them for a few more details.
The client brief was for a family ‘home from home’ so @thirteen.interior.design crafted a design solution using colour and curves to create a space that felt warm, comfortable and luxurious. They approach every project in a unique and creative way and they look for inspiration in all sorts of places, frequently drawing inspiration from the property.

A little sneak peak at the process of creating Ava, a new armchair from the Sophie Paterson x The Sofa & Chair Company collection launching next week. From initial ideas and sketches to CAD drawings and renders to actually building it - starting with the frame. Made of kiln-dried solid wood beech, and guaranteed for 15 years, the frame imbues so much a of the character in this piece. We can’t wait to see it all come together in the Vis a Vis showroom for the launch next week.
