In the words of a certain politically dubious singer, Everyday IS like sundae here at The Sparkle Horse lately. This weekend it’s salted caramel.

Stopped off here for lunch as it was doggy friendly. The barman who served us was very welcoming and even offered a bowl of water for our dog. The menu is very reasonable so we expected an average lunch! What we got was far from it, the food was fantastic and it is a very veggie friendly menu, which my wife loved! I had the black pudding stuffed pork loin wrapped in Parma ham on a bed of chive mash and a garlic and white wine creamy sauce and my wife had the puy lentils shepherds pie. The quality of both these dishes is what you'd likely pay double for elsewhere, so compliments to the chef! We will definitely be back here.

User

It's a place where People talk about chicken burger, baby disco, relaxed atmosphere, great mix, black pudding, burger and chips, wine, karaoke, best steak pie and jim brady.

User

I've always loved it here - the staff are always friendly and attentive, the food is incredible and the atmosphere is fab. But today we came for our first family visit with our 3 week old baby! It was way less stressful than I had expected, thanks to the helpfulness of the staff and attention to detail for families coming in. We had plenty of space for the pram and the changing facilities are perfect. It has everything you could want when taking a baby out, while still being a really cool bar. Looking forward to coming back for baby disco! :-)

I went to Sparkle Horse yesterday with my sister and niece. Staff were very attentive and efficient. My niece and sister ordered the lentil and ginger soup as a starter. It was absolutely delicious!! Very flavoursome and hearty. I had the humous with warm bread tasty and homemade. I ordered the pan fried sea bass with green beans and pesto. It was served on sautéed potatoes with a little wilted spinach. As it was one of the specials it was a bargain at only £6 for a substantial portion. The other two had Teriyaki cod, Also yummy. No room for puddings but the staff were happy to prepare special coffees for us. Brandy coffee for me Tia Maria and Kalhua for the sis and niece. We had two rounds of drinks. The bill was a reasonable £78.00 Sister was delighted since she was paying!! We will certainly be back.!!

Great pub. Excellent food.

User

Friendly staff it gets busy but they always have enough guys behind the bar to deal with the demand. Foods great large portions fresh and classic bar grub.

Down sides watch the floors going to the toilets can get rather slippy!

Shabby chic hidden gem worth the visit !
