Went last night to see Tide Lines as a birthday trip for my mum who is currently having to use a wheelchair due to health issues.

The staff could not have been more helpful and even made sure we were in the front row so she could get a good view of her favourite band.

Thank you everyone xxx

We went to this pub for dinner, the food was lovely and the music also very nice. There's a nice atmosphere inside, very comfortable and relaxing. Everyone was very kind with us, they took us the dessert we wanted even if the kitchen was closing!

Visited this venue for the Blancmange show on 21st Feb '17 , great intimate venue to see live music at the back , with another area upstairs for events as well ,& the restaurant is really welcoming & relaxed with a great atmosphere & staff . Definitely to be repeated & soon .

Saw Blancmange last night, loved the fact that it was such an intimate gig, so rare nowadays. Everyone very friendly including lovely staff on the bar and Adrian on the door. Can't fault it really other than wear a Tshirt as it gets hot!

User

Nice pub with great music venue at the back. Saw #TheFolkDevils and #TheCravats and had a great evening. And Ardbeg Whisky 🥃 too!

Lovely place for drinks and breakfast

Looking back on my trip to London, I discovered that 3 of my most memorable meals were enjoyed at The Water Rats. The Full English Breakfast was an amazingly scrumptious start to one of my days of London exploration. Added to that was an end of day plate of Bangers & Mash. The sausages were good, the potatoes were delicious, but I will always remember how delicious the gravy was. A Sunday reminder of the Sunday Roast allowed me to enjoy yet another English tradition before returning to Iowa the following day. Predictably, this was another delectable (and filling) meal that was again accompanied by the most amazing gravy that I can remember enjoying. I did not attend any of the nightly entertainment offerings and am certain that I missed some fun there. I really want to do a return visit to London & will assuredly return to the area where The Water Rat can be my local (just around the corner) pub again. Special "Hello" to Amy. I enjoyed meeting her as well & hope she enjoyed the music I left behind.

Had a great meal today ! The waitress and chef could not have been more accommodating ! Excellent service

User

Great little music venue at the back and a nice bar up front. Good range of beers. Menu looks good though I didn't eat on my visit. Acoustics in the music room impressive too. All in all worth a visit either for a drink, a gig or both.

User

Fantastic venue, friendly and cool light hearted staff. thoroughly enjoyed my visit 1st march for 5 upcoming artists- gigs. Also had a munch on the night.. food and service top class.. Great acoustics and surrounds in theatre having heard female singer on acoustic guitar to mo chi ming. visual also pleasant and complimentary re: the other gigs Overall a great place to visit not just once but a return when next in London definitely.

PS. Thanks again to the Man on the Door(Security)a previous night for escorting me safely away from the attentions of a male (needing a hug)- getting a bit deep about childhood and his mammy...and losing the humour of what it all may or may not be all about!!

User

Fantastic pub managed by lovely people. We had a Christmas party there last night. The food was amazing. The best Christmas dinner yet. Massive portions and the best roast potatoes! And the cheapest in town too. The back room is perfect for a party with its own bar and a great sound system. The technician was there all night too to help with the lighting etc. I never rated the place much when it was under previous management, but it’s been transformed and it’s an ace venue. Great night. Thanks Sally, Tony, Steve & Nicholas x

I so wanted to be able to give this place a grand review! As a girl travelling alone I look for places that look inviting and The Water Rats had that in spades, sadly that was were the good ended. I felt like I'd interrupted the staff who only had 1 other customer!! I asked if they were serving food, was given a menu and 15 minutes later I had to ask to order!! The "homemade steak burger" was dry and overcooked and frankly I couldn't wait to leave massively disappointed as I'd read the great reviews...maybe I caught them on a bad day...shame.

User

Great venue for an intimate gig, and the food was excellent but the drinks are expensive (yes, its London but £3.50 for a small coke zero that wholesales at 75p-£1 is nuts). Would have rated higher of not for that.

User

Great sound setup for such a small space. I suggest you get there early for a show - I was running a bit late and could barely get through the door during the support act. Once they'd finished and loads of people went out to the main bar, I found a decent space though. Dress light, as it's very cosy, and *very* warm once the band start.

User

It's the first time I had visited, the 2 female bar staff that served us was very friendly unfortunately the male one that served us wasn't friendly we felt he didn't want to be there, The band was brilliant but far too many people in the room, couldn't move, we got pushed about and when someone wanted to get past we were nearly taken with them, if there was a fire not sure everyone would of got out safely

User

Extremely overpriced, beer not kept to well due to lack of experience, plus side food looks good and comfortable surroundings, staff are a bit over attentive
