We had a lovely meal and great service. Unfortunately we sat inside even though we booked a table outside, as it started to rain. The staff were very accommodating and the place was in a great setting, but the other customer that we were placed next to were inconsiderate of other diners. Would return but eat outside.

Very nice and cosy place, delicious food and kind staff! Also, they have offers to eat a very good lunch with a low budget. I will sure come again if I come back to London! :)

This was the first time I have been to the Waterway restaurant. We had 3 people in our group. I loved the food, scenery and most importantly the staff. They accommodated our needs and provided us with a table outside with a lovely scenery. They always checked if we were ok. Always smiling. The food was delicious. My fiancée and I have visited the waterway a couple of times now, we are from Sheffield but have family down in Maida Vale so the location of this place is great. Right at side of the canal, lovely outside seating areas made all the more romantic at night with the roll out roof canopies and beautiful enclosed fire pits.

We visited last night and was once again not disappointed. Will definitely visit again and will put myself on the mailing list and would almost certainly appreciate some discounts etc upon our next visit.

Nice restaurant, food was served quite quickly and was cooked and presented well. Good seating area outside with heating!!! Have given 3* as there was a dog inside the Restaurant next to our table, and when we queried if it was a guide dog, we was told pets are allowed. Also, cocktails we’re more like mocktails!!!

We went there for the celebration my cousin's birthday. She brought her own cake and they charged her a "discounted" £15 (because it was her birthday and so they did her a favour!) just to put the millefeuille in the freezer (!) and without even a waiter/waitress to serve it to us at least! On what planet bars charge a £15-20 for just utilising 9 plates and 9 spoons (!)

It was great eating a frozen-concrete-like with spoons by the way...Absolutely brilliant! ��

We ordered our drinks and food. The food came out 5 minutes after we ordered it but the drinks didn't come out until I chased them up by the time the drinks came out the meal had finished. They turned us around in 40 minutes the whole experience was disappointing

The food was great and to begin with it started as a really nice afternoon but when I ordered an old fashioned and it came watered down, I asked for it to be replaced. This of course meant that they just took the ice out of the same drink. Again asking for an old fashioned that wasn't half water, a member of the bar team came over and tried to tell me that in actual fact I wanted a whisky with sugar and that an old fashioned had to be made with ice.



1. If a customer asks for something to be made with ice on the side, just make it that way. Don't come over and try humiliate them.



2. An old fashioned should never arrive more than half full, my glass was literally watered down by the ice and that is the first mistake of making a good drink.

Lovely setting and nice food. Slightly disappointed at the lack of effort for the Birthday Girl last night. The booking was made a month in advance but still had to wait outside 30 minutes for our the table. Couple of balloons and a vase for flowers are expected in most places. Unfortunately even an ice bucket was too much effort for the crew on the night. Service was very poor, frankly non-existent. One of the guests couldn't come, but his food was still served and I presume charged. The staff served the birthday cake to me. Knowing who is the birthday girl at the only party of 10 at the venue goes a long way, guys! The whole experience took its toll on the overall mood which inevitably cut the night short. Which is a shame, as it was lovely to catch up with friends whom I haven't see for ages.

I’ve been going to The Waterway on and off since it opened 17 years ago. I thought the service this time was the worse I’ve ever had. We ordered steak the waiter did t even know which one was medium rare and which one was well done. We had to wait ages for our food. The lady behind us was complaining because one of the waiters swore at her. Overall the ambience was probably the best thing. I wouldn’t be going back to eat maybe drinks.

They had a dish called Quinoa Hot Pot. Looked intriguing so ordered it. Expected an almost bean/quinoa raging type thing in a cast iron pot with cheese topping perhaps. No such luck. There was nothing ‘hot pot’ about. It was not in a cast iron pot, it’s wasnt hot in temperature or taste. It was a very simple quinoa salad and should have been listed as such in the Salad section and should have been half the price. Even though we mentioned this to the waiter he did nothing but take 10% off bill.

The kids dessert stated ice cream with strawberries. So we thought this would be ice cream with fresh strawberries. We told them to just bring the strawberries as my niece was unwell. They brought berry ice cream with mixed berry coulis on top. Again another misleading item on the menu!

Would not go again. All dishes were over priced and seemed incomplete.

Terrible. Will never go here. V. rude

I wasn't aware that in the evening the terrace is shared with rats that roam freely very close to the tables.
